Great portable dab/fm radio
A super little DAB and FM radio. I use it a lot. Very good battery life from the rechargeable battery which, along with its small size and weight, makes it very portable Reception in DAB is crystal clear and a good sound. FM likewise. Obviously reception varies on where you are in the country (or abroad) due to the arriving signal strength. Saying that, I’ve never had a bad reception. Display is readable and clear. There are 20 presents for DAB stations and 20 for FM. Plenty! The case is black and silver- looks neat. There is no Bluetooth as the earpiece cable doubles as the antenna. If you are in a low signal area just adjust which way the lead is lying and you’ll get the best signal available. The earpieces are comfortable to wear and have a good sound. With the right lead it’s possible to connect the radio to an extra speaker. I have a Bose soundlink and the sound is awesome. Lastly, the on/off button can be locked to avoid the radio being accidently switched on. Very useful. Can’t fault this radio in anyway.

Excellent reception and easy to set up. Pretty small!
Very good pocket radio with excellent reception. I found this radio has good sound quality through the supplied earbuds, but benefits from a higher quality pair. Charging time is just over an hour to give 4 hours plus running time. Setting up presets for favourite stations is straightforward. 10FM and 10DAB stations can be stored. The only slight downside is that it doesn't display date and time whilst playing, only in "standby" mode when it will be silent. A single button press will come into and out of standby if you need the time, takes 5s to turn on and off and then on again.

Great for use a the football!
I wanted a little radio that I could take with me when I go to football matches as I am visually impaired so the radio just help if play is at the other end of the pitch for example. It’s really easy you use. Once I learned where all the important buttons were I could use it no problem. With it be small and compact I can just put it in my pocket whilst at the game, and with the lock feature I can turn to the station I need and lock it so it doesn’t change anything whilst in my pocket. Whilst at the stadium the digital radio is excellent and you don’t miss anything that is being said (although you do have to turn up the volume so you can hear it as well as the crowd noise). The FM is usable. There is some interference when using the FM but that just could be my teams stadium. I use cheap over the ear headphones so I can hear the atmosphere at the same time, so can’t comment on the in box headphones but I’m sure they are fine! It did come with a charge cable to plug into a USB port in a computer or a plug that you can plug into the wall but you need to buy that yourself. It doesn’t come with the radio which I think could be a nice added thing. If you, like me are just looking for a portable radio for listening to the football commentary at the ground or just at home you can’t go wrong here. Battery life is pretty good. I’ve got through two full games so far at its down to 60% battery so pretty good in my opinion. Hope this helps!! 🙂

Great little radio
Love my radio. Had delivered to hosital where I’ve been since last week and finding it hard to cope with constant bleeps/ alarms going off. So easy to set up and didn’t take long to charge up. One happy customer

Great idea but very poorly designed
PROS: small, light, easy to use and store radio stations; good sound quality, comfortable headphones. CONS: 1) signal is not too stable - if you sit/stand still then it is OK, but if you move around, or move the heaphones cable around, e,g. when adjusting its position in your clothing, the signal gets interrupted momentarily and crackles for a couple of second until it destabilises. 2) BIGGEST PROBLEM: in their efforts, the designers of this radio did NOT put in the bit of circuitry that switches off the display, so the display is on ALL THE TIME. Contrast this with a mobile phone, the display of which switches off after a short period, to save battery use. The result for this radio is that the display sucks power out of the battery all the time that the radio is switched on, so it means the battery lasts about a day before it needs to be recharged. It's worse than modern mobile phone batteries that nowadays can last a couple of days of careful use! So it means you have to treat this radio as if it is like an older-style mobile phone, and charge it daily, to be sure it doesn't just cut out in the middle of your favourite programme because the battery has died. 3) Related to 2): if you like to listen to the radio at night in bed, you need to put it under your pillow to prevent the display from lighting up the area where you are sleeping; this fact that the display is on all the time could be disturbing for you and maybe partners at night, if you like a dark room!!! VERDICT: overall the radio is very handy, but the signal instability and the constantly-lit display makes me wish I had not bought it. But I will continue to use it, now I have it, but I expect it will not last too long because the battery will be exhausted in a much shorter time than necessary. Therefore don't recommend to buy this, and instead look for a radio that states its display will switch off after, e.g. 30 seconds, to improve the battery life and your general life. ADDITIONAL POINTS: 1) I mean "restabilises", not "destabilises" (autocorrect takes over!!) 2) I found that it is possible to force the radio into mono mode rather than stereo mode, using the menu option button; this seems to solve the crackling problem, as long as you don't mind mono sound; no problem for speech. 3) Need to also check battery usage in FM rather than DAB; I once had an older DAB radio that ate batteries, seemingly because of the DAB. I don't know if this battery life can be extended by using it on FM rather than DAB, but if you have unwittingly bought one of these radios, you could try to see if it makes a difference. 4) If the manufacturers of this radio read this review and can fix the display so it switches off after 30 seconds, then I would be delighted to test it for you! Good little radio but description inaccurate
I am pleasantly surprised by this little radio but would like to point out that the display is not as shown in the Amazon photo. There are only two lines on the actual display and not three as in photos. There is NO permanent time display. You only see time and date if you switch to standby. I have posted a photo of actual DAB display. You get DAB or FM confirmation on top line plus signal strength and battery charge. Second line shows station and information on programme or what's playing. Please also note that many of the reviews refer to a completely different radio. Amazon should address this. Despite all that, I really like this little radio and is pretty good quality for size and price. The interface is quite easy to negotiate and you can save up to ten DAB favourites and ten FM favourites. Phones are as you would expect for price but you can use your own. I am happy with the sound which is clear for news and popular music stations. I would recommend it and have ordered another for my wife! Just be aware of the description and I hope Amazon correct it.

Portable DAB radio for less than £30 BARGAIN !
Having owned all three versions of Pure DAB Portable radios, I can say this is a bargain. The Colour scheme (Rose gold/white) is copies from the latest (discontinued) Pure DAB portable radio (Headphone jack gave up after 4 years daily use). I still use my metal pure portable DAB radio (7 years old). I do not expect this model to last more than 1 year given the plastic feel, however at this price you can not really complain. The only problem after a few weeks use, is an issue with the presets. I have only been able to preset 4 stations rather than the normal 10. Battery life seems good, with useful % countdown. Price vs functions vs expected durability means you can not go wrong at this price point. Should the device last more than a year then we are in bonus territory as this radio shall be in daily use. Edit.. I have now been able to preset 6 stations.. The Battery seems to run out around 40% charge, despite this you are still able to listen for several hours. Still worth buying ! for less than £30 Additional edit..... Battery runs out at 46% ! You still get several hours worth of listening, Still a buy for under £30. Just keep an eye of the battery usage and charge before you reach 50%. Edit .....6 month review ...... Used everyday, no other issues have arisen, happy with radio, have today purchased a second unit as great value for less than £29.00 Update... Used daily for 11 months, today the radio froze with display lit up. No buttons working and unable to turn off. I used a cotton needle to reset the radio, all working again now. very happy fix worked.

OK Radio
The unit is a PR1L, others advertise a PR1 as does the manufactures' site. I do not know what the L designation means. The instructions from the website and those included with the radio differ from reality. • The display is CONSTANTLY ON, but can be dimmed to low. On Dim it is pretty dim. There is no 'Backlight Timeout' which I could find in the menus, despite it being mentioned in the instructions. • Although not mentioned in the website PR1 manual, nor on the Amazon advert or its 'Compare with similar items', the unit DOES HAVE SLEEP MODE from 15 to 90 minutes. • The radio DOES WORK WHILST CHARGING. • The reception was good. It was about the same as an i-Box Pocket and better than the old Aigo pocket radio. I got 73 stations on DAB after scanning. • The radio is slightly slimmer than the above models. • The build quality is reflected by the price; it is thinnish plastic. The on/off/lock switch does not give me confidence for a very long life. The USB-C socket is a bit rough with the supplied cable. The display is very clear but just two lines. I will see how the earphone and USB-C sockets last. The earphones are standard for these radios and give good sound and are efficient. Using other earphones generally needs a higher volume level. All these pocket radios have very similar functionality suggesting a common IC, with slight changes to the firmware controlling the buttons and display. The radio arrived fully charged, according to the 'Battery 100' readout. I used the supplied USB-C to USB-2 lead (standard computer USB port compatible) and charged for an additional hour. To gauge the battery life with an as-new radio, I set the volume to standard listening level (level 4), tuned it to a DAB channel and had it display the battery readout. I left the radio playing on the desk, i.e. it had a stable signal, then plotted the indicated battery level against time. • The radio played for 12:31 hrs with the Battery indication going from 100 to 10, when it said Bye Bye and cut out. • Recharging to 'Battery 100', using a USB sourced from a computer monitor, took 2:54 hrs.

Fabulous wee DAB/FM pocket radio, excellent quality
Finally I've found a tiny wee radio that I can listen to in bed during the night and it's perfect! It is a really nice little radio, nice build, fits easily in the palm of my hand, easy to use. Best of all, the volume control is excellent, I can turn it down really low when I want to sleep, and the sound quality is excellent too. I charge it daily via USB, doesn't take long. I have found it so hard to find a tiny pocket DAB/FM radio that is affordable, yet still good quality, they're really hard to come by. So happy I've found this brand, I highly recommend it. I have the Rose Gold/White model, it looks premium!
