Great for cold climates
Easy to adjust and use. Definitely keeps the water from freezing even in sub zero temperatures.

works great
I am a little confused on the instructions they say it is designed for standard size bird baths, we have 3 bird baths and they are all different sizes. but this heater works it keeps the water from freezing. the only down side is it comes on way before it is needed and stays on long after it is needed the range is on at 50 * and off at 118*.

Lost to like, easy to use, keeps bird bath from freezing, thermostat range is whacky
Working right out of the boxI replaced one that started tripping my breaker, this works greatThere was a thin layer of ice when I started, and this promptly melted its way throughOdd thermostat range and this is why only 4 star- ON at 68°F (which is way above freezing)- OFF at 118°F (this is absurd)- These are air temps not waterThis is a ridiculous waste of energy. These should be on at ~36°F off at 50°FCost at time of review $9.99Overall, affordable, easy to use and it works. The thermostat range is absurd. You do not need to heat water if it is not close to freezing and certainly not when it is 118°F out.

Bird Bath Heater
This is the 70 watt bird bath heater. We did an indoor test to make sure the unit was in working order. It is a very sturdy device with a secure three pronged cord. Our bird friends are fed and watered year round. The heated bird bath we have finally gave out after about two years. We needed a replacement. It appears that it is going to be very easy to clean, a big plus, since their water is changed daily. The heat up time was quick! Update: The heater is very easy to clean- just wipe or gently brush until free of all dirt. Dry off to remove any residue, then return to bird bath.

Works
This worked great during a unusual cold snap we had here in the south over the winter. I used it in one of my pig pastures to keep their water from freezing.
