Great protection with minimal restriction
My mom developed autophagia and was harming herself. These gloves provided just the amount of protection needed. Secure enough. Held up well in the wash. Well designed and sturdy.lifesaver for us.

Good Product
This is a great product, but probably could use some adjustment for a more active patient. i bought these for my late father who had dementia to keep him safe overnight due to his fall risk. My father was clever enough to find his way out of these and thus did not work for what I needed them for. I ended up donating them.

Warning, adult content!
Some of us enjoy BDSM activities. Pair these mitts with police style handcuffs for comfortable, inescapable bondage. The padding protects the nerves in the wrists, and the cuffs prevent "naughty" fingers from loosening the restraints.Adult toys like this are generally very pricey. These are moderately priced and of good quality.

Good product
Gloves work great for my mom with dementia. She had a nasty cut on her hand and wouldn't leave it alone especially with it bandaged.

Potential Elder Abuse, Injury, and/or Death
The use of physical restraints can potentially be considered elder abuse and can lead to serious injury or death. The use of restraints in hospitals and nursing homes is ordered by a doctor and it MUST be for the medical benefit of the patient and not for the ease of the caregiver. Someone in a restraint still require almost constant supervision for their safety.

Would be better with velcro...
Try as I might, I just couldn't get these protective mitts to stay on a person for any meaningful length of time. If the individual isn't very combative you may have a bit of success with this pair, but if they are generally more active, it likely won't be very difficult for them to get the mitts off.For our use case in particular, these mitts were to prevent our son from pulling on his feeding tube while eating; however, it did not take very long for him to figure out that he could use his teeth to pull each mitt off. For this reason, I feel like having velcro at the wrists would have been a more effective fastener to use rather than a simple buckle. The buckle method does work well for the longer tether that hooks to a bed/chair etc, but as a means to secure the mitts themselves it just doesn't fasten tight enough. But for an adult with larger/thicker wrists you might have more success with keeping the mitts secure -- especially if they have a more docile demeanor.Ultimately, these weren't much help to our family specifically, but they are still a well sewn set of protective mitts that are reasonably priced, and they have a few extra features to make them worthwhile. So depending on your use case, I suspect that you may have more luck with this pair than we did.

Far from secure!
I had higher hopes for these medical restraint gloves based on the ad, however they do come up very short in functionality. I am a man with large hands so this review is based on me testing them.Pros:- Breathable- PP plate built-in restricts bending hands- Minimal hand / finger movement when on- Bed ties are long- Large hands fitCons:- The sewn in a constraint ring is useless, you can bend fingers enough to easily dislodge, allowing your hand to turn over.- Wrist strap doesn't adjust into a secure position, even doubling-over the strap through the buckle a second time. When the glove is tied to a fixed object, it is easy to pull which loosens the wrist strap allowing the hand to slide out.- Wrist strap buckle is sown to a stationary point, this will not allow for full tightening into a secure position.- Strap for attaching to a stationary object is also sewn into place on the mit, when using the adjustment buckle to attach to a stationary object if you pull hard enough it will loosen if not tied.Overall, you can try these but good chance is you'll return them and go somewhere else.
