Only solid state devices such as memory sticks or cameras will work. Reading and writing files to and from the laptop proved successful. Also the laptop happily played an mpeg movie file from the flash drive.My next test was to connect the usb cable from my digital camera to my laptop, again using this adapter's USB 3.0 port.
