This gel initially has a slight greenish tint to it, but once rubbed in and absorbed into the skin, there is no sign of the greenish gel. I haven't noticed any staining on my clothing after using this gel.The gel easily absorbs quickly into the skin. I found it to be a bit oilier compared to normal Voltarol, but it felt less oily once absorbed, and it did not leave any sticky residue. Although this gel is free from synthetic perfumes, there is a slight odour to it; it isn't unpleasant; it has a sort of light menthol medicinal smell to it. When you first rub the gel into the skin, you have a sudden cooling effect that provides some relief to the inflicted area. With it also containing Arnica, it helps with easing the effects of bruising. I actually prefer this gel to the original. I love that it is a certified organic, plant-based gel that doesn't contain any animal- or animal-derived ingredients, making it vegan-friendly.

As with all herbal remedies, don't expect it to work. I'd imagine that for most people, standard Voltarol or ibuprofen gels will be more effective. However, if those aren't effective, this is certainly worth a shot. It seems to work better for me, at least.

I've been using Voltarol for years to help with my knees and the stiffness and aching I get especially after sports which after playing for too many years are the cause of said pain. When I saw this new gel I thought I'd give it a go and especially liked the sound of the organic ingredients it boasts, however whilst it does provide some cool soothing as you apply it and the smell is really quite pleasant, I wouldn't say it's anywhere as good as the other pain relief products they sell. It does help to a certain degree and I stuck with it until the tube was fully used, but any relief it provides was short lived, at least for me. I'll be sticking with Voltarol, it just won't be this particular gel.

I found this helpful with an aching back muscle. No irritation or problems with my skin at all. Very useful to keep in the cupboard.
