An exceptionally brilliant and insightful comic!
I grew up in the Boston area and I used to see Stephen Wright in Harvard Square at passim coffeehouse although it was really more like a bar. I also saw him perform at the Boston tea party. I've been watching his videos on YouTube and this just nobody else like this guy he brings me to tears with some of his one liners!"I saw restaurant that serve breakfast anytime", so I said to the waitress I would like French toast during the Renaissance!"what's another word for thesaurus?""I was hitchhiking and his big truck carrying 20 cars pulled over and the driver said to me there's no room in the cab but you can get in one of the cars. The Driver stopped 19 more times to pick up hitchhikers. Then the driver got stopped for going 90 miles an hour and got a speeding ticket and we all got speeding tickets!"

Steve Wright 7 year old Genius
The stream of questions flowing through this brain deserves to be preserved in this handsome book. The spacing and layout of the passages on the page reflect the aesthetics of this curious mind.I can only read a few paragraphs per session to enjoy the flavours.

A fantastic imagination!
Steven Wright exhibits a fantastic imagination in his book, Harold. Fantastic in the sense of fantasy. Clever and pithy as he occupies 7-year-old Harold's mind/brain.This is going to seem odd and way out there, but as I was reading Harold and his ability to nail and express so many specifics and turn on a mental dime in the way the thought(s) were going, I was reminded of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. I know that's weird, but that's how Harold's mind works, too: seemingly unrelated things are actually related and relatable when you think about them.

The Ol’ Magic’s Not There
The laid-back, laconic drawl comes across, but the problem’s the material. I love, adore Wright’s comedy, but he is not a writer. You might feel good reading it — it is not without merit — but you won’t laugh much.
