This thing works better and is more powerful than I ever expected! The tines snag and remove roots. Easy to clean. Battery life better than I expected. Perfect for my raised garden beds and churning my compost pile.

I ordered this to do small tiller projects such as garden and flower bed edging and weeding. I selected this model mostly due to the compatibility with Dewalt batteries. I have used this tiller twice now. I’m impressed with it power and functionality. It is heavy enough to easily work the soil, but light enough to not be overly burdensome. I was initially concerned with battery life of any of the models I looked at. Most came with two batteries, but were small batteries. I initially used a Dewalt 4 amp hour battery for some light usage and my fears were realized. The battery was discharged by a third with light usage. The second time I used it I switched to a larger flex volt battery which held up well. Since I have many Dewalt batteries, battery life is not an issue.

First time use review. For those that down rated it because it did not come with a battery.... the product description and instructions clearly state that it does not come with a battery! Ya gotta read the description! Works with a Dewalt 20v Max battery that does not come with it ... but I am repeating myself. As a retired product designer, it is well made and easy to use. Easy to assemble, heavy which makes it dig up dirt easily. Only one fault. The three battery contacts can get bent easily and hence will not allow the battery to fully engage. And therefore the device will not work. Dewalt contacts are almost fully supported along their length so they are less likely to bend, the tiller's blades fully hang out in the air and if the battery is not correctly aligned, the contact blades will bend. They can be straightened with a pair of needle nosed pliers. Don't ask me how I know this :-) When using, I let it walk forward a foot or so and then slowly pull it back letting it churn up my partial clay/sand soil quickly. Does a good job. If working around plants with established roots, the smaller roots will get cut off and wind around the tangs, so they will need to be removed to allow each tang to cut efficiently. Bottom line, I like it and glad I got it. Makes gardening a whole lot easier.

Most all the tools I have are dewalt. However, the rototiller cultivator from dewalt is just a head and you have to redo your weed eater that is unacceptable. I thought I'd take a try with one that also uses the dewalt batteries. Oh my I'm impressed. I didn't think it was going to work as well as it does. One of my raised beds has a neighbors sequoia coming up from the bottom and into my bed. This tool went right through it, took shallow pass cut all the hair like roots and then started diving deeper. Worth Every Penny. The vendor was great as well.

Happy Wife!! My wife has always hated gas-powered tools—they're tough for her to start and just too much hassle. This tool is absolutely perfect! It's lightweight, powerful, and best of all, it uses the same batteries we already have at home. It's ideal for flower beds and those hard-to-reach garden areas. Couldn't be happier!

This is a great garden tool. Sure makes hoeing easier! I like the fact it uses Dewalt batteries! Best thing I've bought to work the ground. It works better if the ground has had some rain. This is worth the money.

Bought this rototiller to maintain between the rows in my garden. Made short work (couple of minutes) of a 20ft long row. Highly recommend for all garden maintenance! Using a 4ah Dewalt battery with it lasting 30 to 40 minutes. Tines are built a little light for hard ground use but perfect for gardens and flower beds. Tine RPM is perfect for not throwing dirt on top of plants next to where using it. Quality of product seems to be good with the anticipation of many years of use!

It worked well for tilling the flower bed. It was light, the handle was adjustable and it worked with the Dewalt batteries that I already had. Very nice product!
