Great telephone for Mum. Set up was complicated but helpline sorted it out.

I bought for elderly mother, thinking this phone would be easier. Quality of the phone is not the best and to be honest felt cheap. Instructions aren't the clearest to interpret. Sound isn't as loud as we thought and other makes of phone are clearer and louder. Was just too complicated for Mum to use. Unfortunately, this was a wasted buy and we have reverted back to previous phone.

I bought this phone for my mother who has Alzheimer's and forgets how to use the normal phone. The idea of having big, visual buttons to press sounds ideal. However, it was not as easy to set up as I had hoped: 1) The instructions for setting up the picture buttons are wrong! It took me several wasted hours and the use of 2 different phone lines to realise that it was not me being stupid, but a lack of clarity in the manual, which I had to phone the helpline to find out! 2) The process of inserting photos/names proved to be very fiddly. Getting the plastic cover off each button was bad enough, but replacing them without damage was extremely difficult. 3) A word of warning - don't try to use your existing phone cable - you must use the one that comes with the phone, or you won't get a signal. All-in-all, a bad experience that could have been avoided with correct instructions in the first place. I'm told the error/s have now been corrected? A further point that you might need to consider if you are buying the phone for an elderly person with memory problems, is that the big buttons on the base have to be held down for a few seconds, until the red light comes on, and, then it must be released for the call to go through. There is a market amongst those with memory loss for a very simple to use cordless phone, but this one tries to appeal to too wide a market (presumably to make it economically viable) and thereby becomes rather complex to set up.

Could not program it. Frustrating! They company had nothing useful to offer. I don't think it works with British mobile numbers and once to try to program it it's totally messed up. They wont admit everyone seems to have an issue with this product. I hope I just missed something! I did send it back for refund.

I bought this phone for my parents who are finding it easy to use. It has a big button section and a handset which can be carried about so they aren't tied to the charging point. The volume goes nice and loud as they are hard of hearing. They are also mastering the answer phone feature which some dementia phones don't have.

I purchased this telephone along with an additional handset for my elderly Aunt. (She lives 420 miles south of my home address and therefore have not seen the items) Both phones were promptly delivered but due to various circumstances the initial setting up was delayed after their arrival. My aunt’s eyesight is poor and she is not technically minded, so assistance was necessary and first provided by her carers at home. This achieved some success in getting it in partial use but the carers found instructions difficult to follow and needed some extra help. In all six other locally based family or friends who are more technically competent have subsequently attempted to set up full operation as advertised, albeit with only limited success! Again siting the phones, answer machine, and loading preset details as all being overly complicated. I understand one of her cousins’ daughters telephoned the manufacturers help line for guidance but could still not achieve full functionality. My Aunt has now fount the equipment too difficult to operate, and thought the materials used were of poor quality. The return period has elapsed but both items have now been boxed up as she believes they are unfit for use and not suitable to fulfil the task she requires My Aunt has found the situation stressful and would certainly NOT recommend these phones for anyone else in her condition.

This was bought for someone partially sighted so the photo buttons were handy. We wrote names in some of the boxes as this helped too

Leider wurde mir dieses Telefon mit einem 3-poligen englischen Netz-Stecker geliefert. Man muss sich also zusätzlich noch einen Adapter kaufen, um es benutzen zu können. Außerdem liegt lediglich eine englische Bedienungsanleitung bei.
