Immersion Heater. Backersafe Immersion Heaters are manufactured to the latest Legislation of BSEN60335-2-73. Two specific clauses within this specification are aimed at eliminating the risk of boiling water. The most significant requirement is that the Immersion Heater be isolated from the mains supply, should the primary thermostat fail with the contacts closed, which would allow the water to reach a temperature in excess of 85°C." }

**Q: What's the voltage of this element?**
A: Voltage is standard house mains electric 240v. The heat setting is adjustable when fitting, it is set to 60 degrees, however it can be increased on the built in thermostat when fitting or after fitting, I find the pre set at 60 ideal for washing and bathing, doing dishes ect. Comes with a new seal for the tank as well.

**Q: Is this capable of heating a 1000litre tank?**
A: A 1000 Litre tank sounds like an industrial application. I'm using mine to heat a domestic cylinder of 117Ltr (900mm high x 450mm diam).If using to heat water I would suggest for 1000 litres you use a number of 3 phase (415 volts) elements assuming you have a 3 phase supply.

A: 2.25” BSP standard fitting for these heaters.

A: As near as I can tell, from flat to opposite flat, it is 85 mm.
