Paradise Lost & Paradise Regained

This book changed my life. I'm not kidding!
Paradise Lost has opened my mind and my heart, not just to epic poetry, but to Art as a whole. Before Paradise Lost, I didn't know art could be so moving, so explanatory about God and life. I have read the fall of man in Genesis dozens of times, and I believe it, but it is kinda easy to just skim over.I believe the Holy Spirit worked through Milton to bring the first few chapters of Genesis to LIFE, so we can EXPERIENCE it for the significance for what it is! In the book, when the angel solemly and with regret has to escort Adam and Eve out of the garden, and as they passed by their favorite flowers, locales, they lamented what they had done. I wept. And then the angel told them, that one day, because of Christ's sacrifice, they can once again re-enter the garden! I rejoiced! This is AWESOME!!! I can't wait to be there when Adam and Eve get to enter the new garden!Good art brings us closer to God, the first and primary Artist. And that is what this poem did for me.

Title shares an isbn with 71 other books, you're not getting the one you want
Great quality edition, large print, hard cover... but the Grolier Great Classics has 71 books with the same ISBN number and book sellers like Amazon use the ISBN to sort them instead of the title, so you'll always end up with a random book in the set.(This problem is not unique to Amazon)

Once required reading, now pleasant pastime
Another book that was required reading in High School... way "back in the day." It's always nice to re-read the "required reading" books when they are no longer required, and you can read them at leisure. Although the stories in these two books are not entirely Biblically backed up, they would explain a few things. It is said that Milton studied the Bible and knew a great deal of the Scriptures. I have no knowledge of where he might have gotten the ideas for the portions that are not from the King James Bible, or perhaps these were simply literary indulgence. There are many Scriptures and letters that did not make the cut to become part of our Bible. Perhaps he found some of his ideas in some of these; just speculation.

Nice Pictures
If you are not familiar with Paradise Lost I suggest you be an astute reader before taking on the quest of reading John Milton. My first read in high school required cliff notes to get through it - mostly due to the fact that I had no knowledge of Greek Mythology so some references were lost on me. It's a classic so I feel like it should be read, even if long. People have no attention span today and this requires one. Amazed at how such a long story can be written in verse, just amazed.

very interesting find for me
I know this has been around a while but I was just introduced to it..I love the story and the pictures and how the poem/ story flows with the way it was written. and makes you wish that someone was there to slap eve upside her head. she lost everything and brought her husband down with her! LORDY LORDY!!! but this is a great read!

Buy Any Other Version Of This Book
Just buy any other version, this book is so poorly made you'd expect to see it in a children's library donation. The outer cover curls up beyond the height of the book, the pages are on some sort of cheap construction paper, the entire back of the book is completely misaligned...Sadly my phone's camera would make the colours pop too much to convey this, but even the colouring used is so dark it appears almost uniform black to the naked eye.Do yourself a favour, just buy a different copy of this book as I will be doing.

Good value for money yet no line numbers.
I bought this epic poem because I needed it for my A Levels, it's a set text. The book had the abstracts in yet no line numbers for reference. I found it hard to use and quote specific parts of the text as I found myself counting for the line numbers and labeling them myself. After I couldn't take it anymore, I bought a new one. The poem itself it's fine. For the price I paid, I wasn't too upset but for me, the line numbers are essential.

Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained
The Book itself, physically, seems fine as a paperback, and was good value. No idea how accurately its trascribed from the original. I'm interested to read it as a classic, but its hard going!
