Good depth
This textbook's density left me with little doubt that I'd covered most topics in sufficient depth. Overall I would say it is better than the new green one. However, the newer one is structured better so I'd recommend using both to prepare.

Poor explanations and use of undefined terms
I do not recommend this textbook. It barrages you with poorly explained information and frequently uses terms with no definitions given - it seems more like a summary at times than something you can learn from.

Heavy unengaging text.
A very dense text with little relief from a barrage of terms, definitions and diagrams. Many of the definitions could do with much greater clarity, for example on drainage density where no reference is made of how to calculate it. Unengaging exercises as well which have left pupils floundering since the accompanying text doesn't always help find the answers to the questions. A cold presentation of a lot of facts.
