No I would not use it on my golf shoes the metal bristles are to stiff that they would scratch rather than clean your golf shoes, I bought myself a brush with brass bristles which is much softer and does a brilliant job of cleaning golf shoes. Hope this helps.

Definitely, regrettably it would also remove the chrome from the hose, and then remove the hose from the shower. It is for more heavy duty jobs.

Which brush would be best to clean ivy residue off brickwork?

This brush will help but you will find it very hard to remove if the ivy has recently removed. May be best to let it dry out a bit before trying.
