Does not work in my standard Thermacell Machine, waste of money! Refills do appear to be the same as ones which were sent with the original machine.

I've been using Thermacell products since they first hit the market & now have 4, they work exceptional well. They also seem to be made very well. It's refreshing to find an affordable gadget that actually does what it claims to do. Thank you Thermacell!

Sorry! This was meant for the theta cell 450 but....I am growing more and more concerned about chemicals in , on or around my body as I age and really have shied away from bug repellants that get applied to the skin. I bought this after visiting my neighbors on their deck on buggy evenings. Having been eaten alive on the walk to their house, I was amazed at how few mosquitos came around when we chatted. So, I bit the bullet and ordered this unit on Amazon. Unlike my neighbor's, mine has an attachment that goes on my belt which I was looking forward to so I could use it while gardening. However, I find that if I attach it to my belt on my side, my arm often brushes it and the unit gets pretty warm. If I put it behind on my belt, I cannot relax in a chair. If I put it in front of me I inhale with vapor. ( I don't really care for the smell much and inhaling the vapor sort of defeats the purpose of my dislike of chemicals). Even so, I wouldn't mind if the unit would stand up on its own, but unlike another model, this does not have a flat bottom and will not stand. This can be remedied by fashioning a simple stand of cardboard or wood- but in doing so, you now have to carry something extra with you which can be very inconvenient- especially if you want to have extra pads/fuel with you too. I find that if I lie it on its back, it works well enough- almost too well because it burns through the fuel and pads much much fast than if it is upright. All in all, it works and does repel bugs- plus I don't have to shower after using it.
