Best home BP monitor on the market
I am a physician and have been using these monitors for 15 years. They are high quality and very accurate. I periodically check mine against a mercury sphygmomanometer and it is always within 2-3 mmHg. The mercury sphygmomanometer is the standard by which all BP monitors should be checked. When checked against a mercury sphyg, it is more accurate and reproducible than the electronic cuffs used by the hospital. The cuff is particularly easy to apply one handed. These monitors seems to remain accurate for 6 to 8 years before they need to be replaced. I am still on my second one, with a third in reserve for when this one gives out. I highly recommend this BP monitor.

accurate reading large cuff
The monitor is great and accurate but the cuff is very large. It is perfect for larger arms.

Works fine once you get used to the preformed cuff.
My previous two sphygmomanometers, made by Welsch Allyn, both failed after several years usage. A&D Medical sphygmomanometer works fine. The A&D machine has a preformed cuff which I wasn't used to. The new cuff is positioned higher on my arm than my previous cuffs.

Seems to be Accurate
I've had it for one day and it seems to be accurate. I calibrated the UA-787EJ against the manual setup (stethiscope, gauge and cuff) that I purchased last week and the readings are consistant. I read the first review that stated their disatisfaction b/c the readings were "high". I would recommend calibrating the unit yourself and if it is off, return it for another or a refund. For the last week I've tested several monitors in the local stores (Omron, ReliOn, LifeSource) and I felt that all of them reported low BP readings. I even ordered one that was very eratic in its readings but was always 10 to 12 points lower than the readings taken w/a stethiscope (sometimes I used the BP machine at Wal-Mart, which seemed to be consistent). I returned it for a refund. I work at a hospital, and a co-worker used my new UA-787EJ this morning, found that his blood pressure was very high, went down to ER and indeed it was extremely high. If you have doubts about the accuracy, I suggest purchasing the manual stethoscope., gauge and cuff to do your own calibration. It was the only way I could be confident the automatic unit was accurate and reliable. The manual setup only costs about $16.00 from Wal-Mart (maybe less from Amazon) and taking your BP is easy.

Not worth it.
My previous at-home monitor (Lifesource) failed after about a decade so I needed a new one. I always do my research first, and A&D has a good reputation for BPM's that are certified by a global agency, so I thought this would be a good choice. I always take my BP 3 times in a row and then average the 3. With my previous monitor the difference between these 3 checks would be around 5-9 points. With this machine I see wild swings of 20-30 points taking my BP 3 times in a row. I'm not sure that taking an average of 3 wildly different readings would even be worth the effort. It's past the window of return, so I'm stuck with this, but given a choice I would buy some other brand.

The Pre-Formed Cuff does it for me - Easy to use - Large read-outs, constructed very well.
The Pre-Formed Cuff did it for me. I bought another Blood Pressure Monitor and could not securely wrap the cuff around my arm - it was very frustrating - retuned it immediately. I ordered this one because I previously owned a Life Source Pre-Formed Blood Pressure monitor years ago and realized I missed the Pre-Formed Cuff ease of use. I just got it today - and I am so glad and relieved on how easy it is to use. I would recommend this BP monitor to anyone. Easy to use, large read-outs, well made -- very happy with it.

Excellent medical device.
My husband purchased this item after his recent stroke. Found it very easy to use and wonderfully accurate.

Pre-formed cuff makes BP monitoring easier
I finally have a BP home monitor that I can use by myself because the cuff is already formed. (Make sure that your arm measurement fits within the range given in the product description.) This brand has a very good reputation for accuracy and their Easy Fit cuff is the only model of any brand that I've found with a cuff that I can just slip on. I've struggled to wrap ordinary cuffs around my arm using one clumsy hand. This cuff is much easier to use.
