RP121 Tailored Soft Top Roof Half Cover Black - To Fit Mazda MX5 MK3 & MK3.5 2005-2015

Purchased for MX-5 Mk3.Good fitting product with velcro ties around wing-mirrors which can be pulled tight.Magnets integrated into the cover at various intervals along the sides from wing-mirror back to the rear of the cover around the skirt.The cover is tailored around the top, windows, windscreen and around the high mounted rear brake light.The windscreen area is secured down simply by windscreen wipers holding the cover down.At the rear of the cover, there are two metal sausages integrated into the cover which fit under the boot cover so the cover is fixed in place when the boot lid is closed. This secures the cover at the back and provides some security so people can't just whip it off.The cover has some weight to it. The outside of the cover is woven fabric/textile and the inner is a water proof thick rubberised material. My car lives mostly outside in a very exposed position open to winds straight off fields. Tied down with the weight of the cover (dry) even in a 20mph gusting wind holds it down without it flapping about. There is only the slightest movement from the wind, but slight when it gusts. I have not tested it in higher winds yet.When wet the cover is heavier still because the fabric of the cover material soaks some of the water which does not penetrate through. It is a rain proof cover.The cover is quite wide and fits very well providing good protection over the top, it has a wide skirt around the sides and under the windows and rearwards into the boot-lid and at the front under the windscreen wipers making rain drain off the vehicle without touching any of the soft-top or its drain channels or the window seals. The windscreen channels and under the boot-lid drain off any rain water. The side skirts go right over the window seals and rear of the soft-top.I expect it will be excellent at keeping frost and snow off without any problems. I could see that soaked in rain water that freezes into the cover fabric might be an issue. Also not sure how brittle the under cover waterproof material will be once frozen so might need to take care here to prevent damage that causes leaks later.So far I am very pleased, it looks good, keeps bird muck, dust, tree sap/debris etc. off the soft-top and blocks strong sunlight as well as preventing people "having a look inside". Since it looks like mohair and is black it matches up the soft-top in black very well !I use it routinely when the car is parked without fail now.Doddle to take off when ready to go working from front to back: clear the wipers off the front of the cover, undo each velcro strip on the wing-mirrors, open the boot-lid to free it and folding it as you go into the boot and close the lid ... ready to go !When you're parked, pull it of out the boot, stretch over to the front, position the rear around the rear brake light fitting the metal sausages under the boot-lid, shut it, secure the velcro around the wing-mirrors and put the wipers over the top and walk away after some minor adjustment. Even remote locking/unlocking works fine with the cover on !Very good product to protect your MX-5 Mk3.

Perfect ! bought this to use as a frost cover for my mark 3 hard top . All window covered a treat .Such a well made product. Packs away into a case for storage.quick to fit and looks super - cool.

A clever realisation of a solution: it is held in place by tabs which cleverly fit behind the door and boot jambs. Reasonably easy to fit and remove and comes with a handy storage case.

After many years, I had to replace my old cover. I live by the sea, and we experience heavy storms, so it was quite durable. I needed a replacement because the straps had eventually broken. However, the new cover is designed to be pinned down by pitching it in place with the doors. It's a great product and excellent value for money.

The cover is good quality and stands up to poor weather conditions. My issue is with the magnets which hold the cover along the top of the door and rear wing. As the cover moves in the wind the bits with magnets have rubbed and damaged the paintwork. Cover is now in the bin.

I bought this half cover for my Mazda MX5 Mk3 and it fits really well I must say. Easy on and off too. The reason for three stars is that for the price I find the stitching to be poor. If you hold the cover up and you'll see daylight through the stitching and in many places. Surely more care and attention here would make a world of difference. Still, it will keep frost and ice at bay and I'd rather have the cover than not.

This is a superb half cover for your mx5. It is made of thick material, and has some clever touches such as magnets to hold the side down, and fixes to the rear by the boot jam. It has made my little car a lot drier inside (17yr old roadster after all) I recommend this for the money- excellent stuff
