That being said, this is a complete cheat code for working with an amp that you simply don't like the sound of. Running this pedal directly into the effects return completely bypasses the crappy preamp and has you utilizing just the power amp and speaker. Even without adjusting anything from neutral, it sounds fantastic. The KEY FEATURE is the blend control. The blend control mixes your clean guitar signal with the "pedal affected" signal. Your "pedal affected" signal includes DRIVE and PRESENCE. Your clean signal includes just the Treble/Mid/Bass EQ stuff. For example, you won't get DRIVE until you begin to rotate the BLEND clockwise. Why only 4 stars? I don't use this as a DI. I play it into a crappy bass combo amp through the effects return. <-Like a lot of people do. I, therefore, do not need an "always on" cab-sim feature. I am already playing through a speaker cabinet. Playing a cab-sim through a cabinet sounds muffled. I wish so badly for the ability to turn off the cab-sim.
