Better than I could have imagined
Takes a leap of faith to pay this much for a chair and I am glad I did. I have a crumbling spine condition that is very painful regardless of what I sit on, but in the nine hours that I have been using this one (with breaks of course) I am happily surprised at how much easier on my back that this is than any other chair I have used in the past, and that includes a superb £1500 chair that I use at work. Takes a while to get it set up perfectly, so be patient; and that's only because of the number of adjustable bits. Putting it together is really easy too.It is hard to describe how it feels in use, but it cradles one firmly, but gently in position and is phenomenally comfortable. The split back and seat fold inwards subtly wrapping around your back and thighs...but you don't feel clamped in and this position totally prevents you from slouching, which is odd at first, but somehow very satisfying. It is very solidly built too. To say I am thrilled is an understatement...add to that the superb customer service and I am one satisfied customer!!!! I have been searching for the perfect chair for two years now and I am pleased to say, that as far as I am concerned, this search is now over....thanks HaraTech...

Annual running costs...for a CHAIR?
I thought long and hard before forking out such a large chunk of cash on an office chair, especially as a cheap-and-cheerful one lasts me a good few years before looking shabby or no longer functioning properly. The good reviews on Amazon, and in the press, eventually persuaded me to bite the bullet and my shiny new Hara Stuhl duly turned up.Assembly was easy, my chair looked good and, after some adjustments, was certainly comfy. So, why such a low rating, you ask? In a nutshell, that 2 year warranty means exactly what it says: a little over 2 years later, the seat of my expensive but "durable" chair turned out to be not so robust at all and began to show signs of cracking and splitting. I weigh 78kg, so I'm no porker, and I didn't really register what was happening for a while but eventually it became very obvious. I contacted Hara, explaining the situation - and politely expressing my disappointment that the cost and durability of their much-vaunted product didn't seem to match up.After asking for photos, Hara informed me that another "durable" seat for the chair could be mine for a paltry £100 - a mere 50 quid a year, presumably ad infinitum, to ensure that my already-expensive chair could actually be used!I do indeed somewhat foolish complaining that "2-year guarantee" (the minimum permissible under EU legislation) indeed means 2-year guarantee but one might imagine that the producer and seller of such an expensive and ostensibly "up-market" item would stand by their product but sadly that ISN'T the case here - and neither is its purported durability.So......Caveat Emptor!

Comfortable
This chair is often recommended for those with back problems. I do not have back problems but the design advantages are noticeable and enjoyable nonetheless. This is considerably more comfortable than my previous chair. It did take a little time to find the optimal settings simce there are ao many configurable pieces.

Really comfortable seat but the back was a little disappointing - the supports tend to go under the metal frame - this isn't a massive issue. I also removed the headrest as it never seemed to be very comfortable - too far forward and o horizontal adjustment.Overall, despite the odd niggle, this chair really helped an issue with my lower back/pelvis.

The best chair I've ever sat on.
We have had this chair for the last 5 months. We have had many different office chairs, most pretty expensive, but none as superbly comfortable as the Hara chair. My husband and I both have some back issues; mostly due to spinal pressure, but must sit at the computer for several hours per day due to our business. The unique design of the Hara seat is that it flexes between your buttocks, thereby relieving pressure on the spine. I borrowed my husband's Hara chair whilst he was away for a week and as a result I have just ordered one for myself. They are 'expensive' but for a life-time of sitting, well worth the difference between this chair and another 'good chair' which might still cost £300+ The Hara team do really call you, even on the weekend last time, to check what your particular back pain issue might be to make sure you buy the right model, so you cannot fault their level of care and attention. If you haven't got back issues, buy this chair anyway; it might just prevent you developing some.
