Frenziedly shake your over-sized beaker: high protein, yummy, but lumpy
I've tried the following dairy-free protein shakes: Vegan Gainz, Bulk Vegan (3 flavours), EarthChamp and this one, SCI-MX Pro-V Gain. It's the nicest tasting of the lot and the highest protein, though I did receive one iffy batch (Amazon refunded) and necking two of these a day caused my gut to react to the sucralose sweetener, which I now largely avoid.Vegan Gainz, Pro-V Gain and even EarthChamp tend to be pretty similar in value at about 30 servings for around £30. Bulk is much better value (but requires some mettle to get it down in any of the three flavours I've tried). Most of these things taste... grey, at best, but Pro-V Gain is chocolately and creamy ... though, if we're honest, still pretty bland compared to a really nice (whey protein) shake (at least, when made with water - perhaps trying some milk substitute or mixing it in a smoothie is the way forward). But it's the lumpiest of all the vegan shakes I've tried, however frenziedly I shake my over-sized plastic beaker. So, though this one would be my choice, the sucralose issue means I've largely moved onto Bulk and EarthChamp, which are lower protein, taste less good, but use stevia as a sweetener.

The best vegan protein!
Absolutely love this protein, the only one I’ve found that I can have with my allergies (most give me an itchy mouth even when they don’t contain my allergens and I don’t know why!) . I’m not one to drink protein shakes but this is fantastic in porridge or to make protein pancakes with. Chocolate flavour is my favourite although I do add extra cocoa powder to make it super chocolatey!!

Have used it for years - easily the best value vegan protein powder
I was hesitant to continue with the V-Gain product because I'd heard so much about how it has changed since Sci-MX changed hands but I'm glad I tried it myself. I've been using it for 5+ years and it's no different as far as I can tell.Firstly there is NO DIFFERENCE IN PORTION SIZE. They now specify 1.5x scoops rather than 1x scoop but, as you'll see in my photo, the new scoop is 2/3 the size of the previous one. The amount per serving is exactly the same as it has always been.It has always been one of the easiest powders to mix up but, like anything, it requires a certain "knack". The easiest method is to use a shaker cup with a grid insert, which will mix it up nicely with a few shakes.I like to add it to oats, mixing in the powder before adding plant milk, or adding to flour when making pancakes. I've even made a chocolate ice cream with it.I've had a few batches over the years which are sweeter, a bit clumpier, or a slightly different flavour - this is nothing to do with a new recipe, just a slight change in a particular batch, something that happens with all products at some time. I didn't notice anything different with this than previous ones - just a new packet....as for the packaging - this is something I really dislike.I keep an old tub which I refill with the pouches to make it easier and cleaner to scoop out of. I understand that the tubs were bulky and less economical to transport and store than the pouches but at least they were recyclable and reusable. I hate throwing the pouches into landfill, it's such a waste.I really wish they'd come up with a better packaging design - maybe cardboard boxes with a protective liner or something?

A drop in quality compared to the old version
I rarely leave reviews but wanted to add my agreement to the other reviewers who have said this is vastly inferior to the old version. I too have been buying vgain consistently for years. It's not absolutely terrible, but the texture is weirder and it doesn't mix as well. The dry powder has an almost damp quality to it compared to the old stuff. The seal on this new bag design is really poor and never really seals properly. The old bags sealed fine (and before that, the plastic tubs).I don't know if this massive drop in quality is due to a manufacturing cost issue. But they do also appear to have increased the price significantly for the customer. So we're paying more for a greatly downgraded product.I will have to try to shop around for a better option, but there aren't many other affordable vegan powders on the market so we may just be stuck with this. Hopefully they will move back to the old formulation, even if the increased price stays the same.

Old batch
This batch was made in 2019 and it tastes drastically worse compared to their new batches. It also has a weird after taste that isn't present in other V-Gain one's I've had before. It also would not mix properly and had these odd white spots in it. The quality is just not there with this.
