I used these to level my un-injured side with the height of the boot, as none of my shoes were tall enough to level me properly. Most of the time I had one in the shoe of my non-injured foot as recommended by the orthotist who fitted me with the boot. Occasionally I needed to bring the injured foot up to match the shoe I was wearing on the good foot. These worked well for both purposes, and I believe using these heel lifts helped prevent a secondary injury by keeping me balanced.
