The STEP2GOLD Ta-Do Series 2 PRO Portable Folding Walking stick is Great
Previously I purchased a portable folding walking stick before from Amazon. It did the job but it was a bit bulky and did not have the tripod structure like the Ta-Do folding walking stick. I find that this Ta-Do folding walking stick is less bulky and is lighter in weight. This walking-folding stick unfolds into a tripod shape with a seat to sit down on, which is pretty sturdy. The seat material is not that hard on your bottom. Also with this model, when in the seated position and you're waiting inline the handle has a means to lock your phone in, and its pretty secure in place. When your ready to get up, all you have to do is step back off the seat, grab the handle and lift the seat tab up that brings the tirpod into a single piece, and use the snap on the seat to lock it closed. Easy peasy! As for storage, the Ta-Do Folding Walking stick comes with a handy carrying case with shoulder strap to store your walking folding stick in. I think this Step2Gold Ta-Do series 2 Pro is worth the price for a solid walking cane and a means to convert into a decent seat when in those moments you need to take a load off you feet and low back (I have a VA disability on my back and prolong standing is a problem for me). Finally, I like the ability to adust the height of the Folding walking stick to fit my 5'11" height.

This Thing Is Amazing
I am 46 and have had progressively worsening hip pain for decades now. For the last eight or so years I have been disabled by it. I need double hip replacements but need to lose some weight before surgery, so, in the meanwhile, I am in constant debilitating pain and cannot stand long at all. Obviously, this dramatically negatively affects what I can do. I have resorted to taking a stroller out places with me for support and hanging a folding chair off of the back to open and sit on whenever I have to (which is nearly constantly). But, this is large, clunky, and not comfortable. I came across the TaDa Chair looking for portable stools and I ordered it and a much less expensive portable collapsing stool to compare for comfort or usability. The TaDa won. Today I went with my family on a garden tour. This thing allowed me to go! I could walk a few steps with the walking stick for very sturdy support, yet it is lightweight. Then I could stop, open it, and sit a few minutes while people explored the area, then move along and repeat. It allowed me to be there! It is very comfortable, which is a lot for me to say as everything hurts my hips. I was worried it would not be wide enough, again I am overweight and pressure on my sit bones hurts due to the pressure it places on my hip joints to just sit. It is super comfortable. While I am still in constant pain, this is giving me back to ability to go some places I wouldn't think of being able to handle before. If you think this might help you at all I encourage you to try it. My teenage son kept trying to sneak a sit on it and even he, who is in great physical shape, found it very nice when his feet were hurting after a long tour (before the garden walk had gone on an hour and a half walking tour of a historical mansion so when he met up with me in the garden his feet were tired). So it is helpful for all ages. This one is also great as it is height adjustable so I could get the cane height just right. And the seat is at a great chair sitting angle so it does not feel like you are squatting. It is easy to get on and off of. And it is so easy to open with one hand and re-close, or if you are going just a few feet, you can leave the seat open and use it as a cane still very efficiently.

Perfect for our trip
Over the summer we had a trip to Europe planned, and I know the river cruise ship does not allow scooters, and I really don't need one all the time. But when planning on walking a lot on tours, I started looking for a cane chair. I really didn't like the look of the ones that when folded, still have three legs sticking out. I researched and found this one on Amazon, and (being the gadget peron I am) fell in love with this concept. I was a bit afraid that it would be heavy to lug around in the "cane" formation, but I loved that it still only have one leg. So I ordered one, and immediatly knew I had made the right decision... It's simple to open and close, even when moving, and is much more comfortable that some of the others I had looked at. Several other folks on the cruise remarked that it was such a good idea, and one lady, after trying mine, immediately ordered one for herself. Pros: Very sturdy, and easy to open and close even on the move. Not a whole lot heavier than a normal cane. Con: More expensive. A bit heavier than regular cane, but not bad. There are a couple of designs, but this one is adjustable for height of user, the others are not. It has a phone holder and a hook on the handle so would be wonderful for getting off your feet for a little break.

GREAT product but unfortunately returned
RETURNED. But don’t get me wrong, we would have wanted to keep it since it is a GREAT product. My bf is temporarily disabled and needs support when walking. He usually uses a cane/hiking stick and we decided to try out this Ta-Da Chair Series 2 PRO. Pros: all the features described are great & accurate. - Very user friendly - Chair legs were strong - Stability was good on hard surfaces (we didn’t try grass) - Comfort was good (not meant for long-term sitting, just to rest) - Very lightweight when walking with it - Phone holder was handy & easy to use - Hook to hang it up was strong - Very compact when closed, unlike other chair+canes on the market - Ability to adjust height is a plus if someone else needed to use it & also to compact it down CONS: - The only reason why we returned it is because of the HEIGHT - It’s adjustable but the photos advertised that this product would work for someone up to 6’4” tall - My bf is 6’ and it was barely tall enough for him to use as a cane - He tried it out for 1 day at the office and he couldn’t get the support he needed when walking - If only the adjustable height part went up 2 more clicks, we would’ve LOVED it - $189-200 is a bit steep compared to others but worth it in my opinion (IF the height was better) TLDR; Pricey but a GREAT product, not for anyone 6’ or taller. Please please please make a taller one!

Best seat/cane combo on Amazon
I've bought two of these Step2Gold series 2 PRO chairs so far and I intend to buy another soon. These things are great! The series 2 PRO has an adjustable handle so you can increase the walking cane height. They are easy to unfold into seating position by just opening the clasp and pushing down on the tab. The feet have good rubber grips that are great in cane form and in chair form on every surface I've tried them on so far. The handle is great, it really feels secure in the hand and easy to grip with your whole hand to bare down on. It comes with a little flip out hook to hang the cane against a low rail or on your arm for a moment if you need both hands to grab something. And it comes with a flip out phone holder that I didn't think would be very useful, but when in chair position it can hold your phone while you watch a YouTube video or just so you dont have to hold the phone ut can still have it in view in case a call comes in while you're having a seat. The series 2 PRO is well-constructed, height adjustable, the seat is fairly wide and comfortable (although I would bring a little cushion if youre going to sit for a long time), and the three legs support you well when seated. Just be sure you sit on it properly. The handle should face upward between your legs in front of you, like riding a pretend cowboy horse. The colors are great and it come with a little carrying bag for when you need to stop it away while moving. My mother and sister keep theirs in their car so they always have a can/seat if they're standing in line somewhere or out at a spectator event and need a seat that is also useful for support while walking around. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone who can afford it.

Good lord it's expensive, but it was worth the price.
Okay, it IS SUPER EXPENSIVE. But it IS REALLY GOOD. So if you can stomach the price tag, it does live up to the hype. I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user and we went on vacation to a historic place and I knew there would be a few places I wouldn't be able to use my wheelchair and needed a stool to sit on. This absolutely did the job. I always felt very stable sitting on it and it was as reasonably comfortable as one could expect. My son carried it for me when I was in the chair and it's super lightweight. So far only the one trip I needed it for, but it was worth it just for the one trip. I'm 6'5" and 185lbs. The weight was not a problem. That said, at it's max setting it's too short to use as a cane. For my situation, that wasn't a big deal. But just be forewarned to take their "user height" recommendation seriously. I did buy another folding cane/chair thing for this trip so I had options if this didn't work well. It was tall enough as a cane, but I still used this one due to superior stability and the fact that it opened and closed so quick and easy.

great portable chair, worth the cost
I occasionally need a place to sit while doing my volunteer work at our zoo or while on outings or at events. One of my volunteer associates has used many varieties of these folding chairs over the years. She said the cheap ones break too quickly and too easily, but she loves this one (Series 2 PRO version). So far, I am loving this walking stick chair as well. It is as sturdy as you can expect from a three-legged stool. I like the phone holder on the handle. The seat is comfortable, but I don't think you'd want to sit on it for more than an hour. Don't plan on using it as a replacement for your hiking stick. It is too short and bulky for that. But I used it as a support while standing during stops on a historical tour. So even when I wasn't using it as a chair, it gave me support to lean on. I like that the rubber caps on the base can be replaced. The handle has to go to the front, so if that would be a problem for you, you might consider another option (walker with fold-out seat). The only con is that it is expensive, but then it is well crafted and well made. It comes with a cloth carrying case, but I wish it had a wrist strap on the handle so I can hang it on my arm when needing my hands for other things when it is out of the case. I am going to try to add this myself.

Appears very good but could use a few improvements in design and communication with the user.
This device appears to be a generally great solution to a problem I have of only being able to ambulate/stand for a moderate distance/time before needing a rest. Walking around long distances and especially museums has been challenging. This device appears to be able to significantly improve my functionality. The instructions seemed daunting but in fact it was particularly easy to deploy and stow away. I obviously can't comment on the life expectancy of the product but in testing since I received it, there have been no problems. There are things that I feel should have been done differently. One-better instructions both written and video though as I noted the device works easily once you decipher them. I might suggest having the English instructions written by a native English speaker with experience in writing manuals. The syntax suggests they were translated from Chinese into English and not written in English de novo. Two- replacement of the rubber end pieces are discussed but there is no information on how to order these parts. This is basically a cane, the tips will wear out and need to be replaced , but it is definitely not a standard size. Three-I'd also suggest increasing the width of the seat about two inches if possible. It would be much more comfortable if it were a little wider. Finally , while I bought the model with the adjustable cane height but even on the longest setting it is short for me by about 1.5" when compared to all my canes. I'm only 5'10". I'll try to check back in in 12 months with a one-year product review.

Higher Sitting Load
Expected Delivery Date: November 6 Actual Arrival: November 2 The item arrived earlier than expected, which is impressive but typical with Amazon Prime. Product / Item Details: • Material: Both versions have similar structural composition. • Weight: Gold2 is noticeably lighter than the previous model. • Mechanism: The previous model operated like an umbrella, requiring a press to open and collapse, with some manual folding. Gold2, however, functions more seamlessly, similar to a manual transmission without needing a clutch. • Capacity: The previous model supported up to 110kg, while Gold2 can handle up to 136kg. Verdict: Gold2 is lighter, supports a higher load capacity, and opens and closes in just 2 seconds. It also includes an integrated mobile phone holder and height adjustment.
