Poor instruction
I've now wasted money on a couple of books by this author. He seems to lack any understanding of musical skills progression and learning development. Rather, the books compile a number of dated and uninspiring tunes, several vanity performances (not sure why he feels the need to sing) and basic tabs (with unconventional and confusing strumming indicators). I really don't believe that the book has been tested on any students at any level. Don't fall for the clever packaging - it's very unlikely to learn any proper bluegrass playing skills from this book. With all the accolades given to the musical abilities of the author on the back cover, actual tuition experience seems to be missing, but a lot of success in producing simple but expensive booklets!
