It's a miracle in a bottle!
I'm 41 and I've never had real issues with my scalp. This might be a long review, but I hope the read is with it to someone. I can only speak to how this shampoo worked for my problem, but here's the honest to God truth... I noticed bumps forming on my scalp over the last 4 months. They weren't itchy and I didn't notice any dryness. I asked my hairdresser about them bc they were now becoming something I was becoming self conscious about. She attributed them to using the same shampoo for a while and recommended switching it up and provided me with a list of shampoos. She also said something about a scalp treatment with mint or rosemary or something like that (I can't remember honestly) that she said would tingle and feel really good. I was super excited for a possible solution. Now at this point, I was also noticing that I was picking at the bumps, causing scabbing; gross, I know. Well, I switched up my shampoo and after a couple weeks, no change. In fact, bc of my obsessive picking, those scabs were now sores and actually bleeding a ton. My husband was horrified at what I was doing to make a bad situation worse. I hopped on trusty ol' Amazon and started looking up treatments for scabs and crap like that. Of course everything for psoriasis and other chronic issues popped up, but not having dealt with anything like this except for the last few months, I was a little overwhelmed with all the options. I found this product and for whatever reason, decided to pull the trigger and purchase it. The price was fair, it seemed to cover a bunch of scalp issues, and the reviews were encouraging. It arrived to my house 4 days ago. I did my first wash with it the day it came. Fast forward 3 days in a row of using it and my scalp is almost completely healed!! I'm not blowing smoke, getting a kick back from the company, or is someone that has a stake in the shampoo game. I am just genuinely relieved, happy, thrilled, and all the other things that when literally after only 3 washes, my scalp was incredibly improved, probably back to 95% normal. I'm finding there is nothing to pick which of course had also helped the healing! It says no scent, but I honestly think it kind of smells like chocolate lol. A little goes a long way. I used about a 1 in circle on my palm and it lathered nicely. There is no weird residue or feeling to my hair. I left it on my scalp for about 2-3 min as it suggests. I'm so impressed with the quality of this shampoo and how it truly helped me! I really hope my experience may help someone, but if this is a hail Mary type of purchase like mine was, this is where you should start!!!

Helped me wash less often
This is a really good shampoo if you struggle with oily hair or an oily scalp. My hair used to get greasy almost daily, which was frustrating, so I started looking into products that could help balance my scalp a little better. After doing some research, I learned that sometimes the scalp can become irritated and produce extra oil to protect itself. This shampoo contains salicylic acid, which I think really helps cleanse the scalp and reduce buildup. Since using it, I’ve been able to go one extra day without washing my hair, which has made a big difference. I now wash every other day instead of daily, and my hair still looks much better in between washes. My scalp also feels cleaner, fresher, and less irritated overall. I can definitely feel the effect. It’s also fragrance-free, which I really appreciate if you’re sensitive to scents or prefer simpler products. The volume of bottles is on the smaller side, but you only need a small amount each time. It lathers really well, so a little goes a long way. Of course, it’s more of a management solution than a permanent fix, but it has helped a lot. It’s also a great option if you deal with dandruff, buildup, or excess oil.

The best fix for scalp buildup
If you have issues with scalp buildup or dandruff, this is the most effective thing I have used. I have tried a few different brands, but the 3% salicylic acid in T/Sal actually breaks down the flakes instead of just masking them with a heavy scent. In terms of durability, a little bit goes a long way. You don't need a massive palm-full to get a good lather, so the 4.5 oz bottle lasts longer than you would expect. For size, the bottle is small enough to fit on a crowded shower shelf or in a travel bag without taking up too much room. The ease of use is great because it is completely clear and fragrance-free. It doesn't leave your hair smelling like a medicine cabinet or feeling greasy afterward. It just does the job and rinses clean. If you are tired of the standard grocery store dandruff shampoos that don't actually solve the problem, this is a solid upgrade that works.

Great Product, Inconsistent Pricing on Amazon
Devout user of the T-Sal shampoo. Good for scaly scalp and to occasionally remove oils that can build up over time.., But Amazon, why is what I paid $7.99 for in November now $12.99 just 3 months later? Competing retailer has this for $7.77. Why the price gouging? Same with my breath-right strips before I cancelled that subscription, when one month they were $10 then jumped to $14 for the next month. What is going on with the bait-n-raise pricing? Again, the product is effective; however, buyer is encouraged to check price at other retailers before purchasing on Amazon.

Great product at great price that really helps get rid of so much!
I started my journey with this! Thank goodness this was my first thing available. What a wonderful product. I could feel it working immediately. Of course. I strongly recommend seeing a Dermatologist, but was told that this product is first thing recommended by all of them because it is so effective and available to anyone. The price is great and it super cleans your scalp. It is really great for oily hair and scalp. You will never have that feeling or that smell you still get even after you have washed your head twice. Excellent product.

So far so good
So far this Neutrogena T/Sal shampoo has helped my scalp more than anything I've tried. I've always had itchy, dry scalp since I can remember. Might be because I started dying my hair with cheap box dye around age 13 until about age 37? When I stopped dying my hair is when the dandruff got much worse. I guess constantly throwing my scalp PH out of balance with dying covered up the issues, I really don't know. But around 2020 it started getting so bad the only relief I found was shaving all my hair off and rubbing oil directly on my scalp. That would help for a bit. I could grow it back out maybe 5" or a little more, then just end up shaving it again. The past year I can't get it to grow beyond 2" before I have to shave it and keep oil on my scalp. Basically if I don't shave it I have to oil my scalp 24/7 to keep my scalp moisturized. Which means I can't style it because all the oil. At least shaving it and rubbing oil on my scalp once a day is the better option. I don't like my hair too long anymore, but I'd like to keep some hair. Shaved just isn't good with my face structure. I used many different brands of shampoo that claim to help scalp issues over the decades. I've even been to a dermatologist that took a biopsy of my scalp and said it's just "normal" dandruff. To keep using CeraVe, or other brand free and clear shampoo, and/or zinc shampoo, and use the Rx scalp oil she gave. The Rx shampoo made things worse. None of those things worked or they made things worse. I've bought really expensive brands too. They might help for about a month, but even when it was working, there was always flakes and a constant low grade burning. I've even tried Rosemary essential oil with rosehip carrier oil and that didn't work either. I also wear a silk bonnet when I've got the oil on my scalp and at night. I'm afraid to write this review so soon. I'll edit if things change with this T/Sal. But it has given me the best results super quick. I also had a scalp scrubber that I begun using the last year to help loosen up the build up of dead skin on the scalp. Even when things semi worked there was always tiny flakes when I'd use the scrubber. But not since using this shampoo. I only need to wash my hair about twice a week. My oily scalp issues seem to be better too. The burning is gone. My hair feels soft. I will add in I'm also using Flaxseed gel masks on my hair before going to bed. BUT I started trying this before I got this shampoo and it helped but not like the combination of the two together. I maybe have to use oil on my scalp once a week now and really don't need conditioner. I have used my scalp scrubber on my dry scalp a couple times this week and there was absolutely NOTHING on it when done. Not one flake! My scalp doesn't burn anymore, and it's growing out a bit. Right when I bought this I was already ready to shave it again after 1/4" growth because of winter dry skin. Now it's probably about an inch long and I am staying hopeful it will grow longer. I highly recommend this shampoo. I also recommend using natural homemade flaxseed gel as an addition to it if it doesn't fully work by itself.

It does the job but stinks
This helped my itchy scalp. Not sure if I got a bad batch but it smells like mildew. I always second wash with a different shampoo so there is no lingering bad smell.

A must for dry shampoo lovers!
If you’re like me and 1. Don’t wash your hair super often 2. Tend to use a bit of dry shampoo and other products to help your hair last longer between washes then this might be the product for you!!! By the time I wash my hair it sometimes ends up feeling just GROSS. Aching from the follicles sitting weird from different styles, scalp a bit itchy from product buildup. Anytime I feel like I’ve waited a bit too long between washes I turn to this product. I feel like it does a great job of REALLY cleaning my scalp! I use it prior to my regular shampoo and I feel like the end result is so much better than regular shampoo alone. This product actually gets in there and gets the job done leaving me with a fresh start. The scent of the product isn’t really good or bad, just kind of there. I’m happy with the strength of the product. It breaks down buildup without being overly harsh. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the lather I ended up getting from it. Will be repurchasing when I run out.

Works well!
seems like every shampoo i used caused some kind of negative result on my scalp; even the expensive ones from my dermotologist. I used to get soreness on my scalp, flaking and dry skin after shampooing and after a day, my scalp is super itchy and oily. Even though i washed twice a day, i was getting this and it was soooo frustrating. After research i looked for shampoos with salylicic acid and this Neutrogena one is awesome!! There is no smell and it lathers up well so you don’t need much at a time. During the wash, i did not feel the soreness and post wash my scalp felt so free; like it could breathe again!! Its the second day now and my scalp is not oily or itchy and no hairs falling out too. Will definitely buy again!!

Good for temp control on scalp issues
I keep a bottle in reserve in the event my scalp relapses. This stuff has always helped with damage control. I did figure out that changing your shampoo and conditioner to something that actually works for you, is how you stop using this stuff altogether. For me I used the Royal Oils line from Head and Shoulders, for others it might be different. I have black hair so dandruff is a nightmare for me. This stuff does work for TEMPORARY damage control, but you need to find a better shampoo and conditioner to actually address your scalp's needs.

Works ok
Soothes my itchy scalp and hair wasn't too dry after using. Didn't help the hair flaking problem very much tho. Bottle is very small, considered expensive.
