The sponges are cute, small. I got the multi colored ones just because I thought they were fun. The pen claw extends and retracts as expected. It holds onto the sponge very well as you can see in the video. Tapping the sponge on a surface and even shaking the pen it held on. I haven’t tested the product pickup yet so unsure on how much it soaks up and transfers.

I only tried it real quick to see how it works on my nail and it seems like it grips the sponge very well. I really won't know until I use it for a while, but I don't see why it wouldn't. The spring action seems strong. The sponges that come with this tool seem to be a better quality than he ones you buy in the store, I did compare them and there's a difference. This tool could absolutely be useful for other crafts. I tried it to pick up beads for jewelry making and it works great for that. Sometimes those beads are a pain to catch and hang on to. I can see this being useful around the house for picking up anything small that's hard to grasp. It would work great for picking up a cotton ball soaked with acetone to wipe a little polish off your skin from painting your nails. I can think of many ideas on ways to use this and I so love a multi- purpose tool. The only problem is you can't buy these little square refill sponges. I guess you have to buy a whole kit, so you could end up having a few of these tools. Looking forward to using it for ombre nails, should be fun. I get a feeling I will be using it more for other things then just nails. I probably won't need sponges as much as I thought, especially seeing as how you can't get refills, which makes no sense to me. I might try cutting up my own little squares from store bought sponges, not sure how successful I will be at that. But I would prefer the quality of the ones that came with the tool. So I am glad I purchased it. Give it a try!

Honestly they're just okay. You do need to have a certain level of skill to make ombre nails, but a lot of these sponges are misshaped and I'm not too impressed with how it distributes the product. The pen works well though!

Doing my own nails can be really messy. I bought these sponges because I thought it could help me be a little cleaner. They are great and I love the tool it comes with! I love this buy, and it was definitely worth the money.

The sponges absorb most of the polish. The tool does not hold the sponge well at all unless it's fully on the sponge. Thinking of buying a different grabber and seeing its it is any different.
