PERFECT FIT AND FACTORY-LOOK for the SMART!
This was an excellent deal, and an excellent product! I just removed the stock 6-CD changer from my 2008 Smart and replaced it with a Pioneer double-DIN nav/CD/Bluetooth/etc unit. The installation was easier than I thought it would be, thanks in part to this item, and the final installation looks professional and SMART! This is the better-looking of several mount kits I purchased; it looks like the OEM surround that came with the car. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS KIT ! Good Luck! Also, the METRA wiring harness made it a CINCH to hook up the new unit:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001JT5QV4/ref=oss_product

First Timer Install Made Easy!
This review is for multiple items which was copied into each product review.I recently purchased this Boss Audio Systems BV9351B Boss Audio Double-Din, Bluetooth, DVD/CD/USB/MP3/Wma, FM/Am Receiver for my 2008 Smart Fortwo Cabrio and I love it! It is such an upgrade to the standard head unit. The reason I upgraded to this unit is because of the added Bluetooth/USB Charging ports. The unit itself I feel is a steal for the price. Some of the better aspects are the responsive touch screen, ease of use, and all the listening functions. If I were to be picky I would change two things. One, I would like the volume button to be more responsive on first turn. I believe that is purposely lagged in case you accidentally bump the dial. Two, the USB port can't stream from USB to iPod/iPhone. You have to either use the Bluetooth or Aux port. This was my first unit install and it was easier than expected. All the cords were labeled and I bought a great harness which made it even easier. The harness I bought was a Metra 70-1783 Radio Wiring Harness for Smart Car. It was color coordinated and made for a very easy install. It added a level of confidence for a first time installer like me. For the antenna I used the Metra Electronics 40-VW10 Factory Antenna to Aftermarket Radio Adapter for Select 1988-Up Audi/BMW/Mercedes/SMART Vehicles. It was an easy plug and play adapter. Lastly, the dash kit I used to add that OEM look was the Scosche ST2430B 2008 Smart ForTwo Passion/Pure Double DIN or DIN With Pocket. The kit came with an extra din to hold items however I purchased a double din system. The kit came with easy instructions and added a factory look. Just be careful with the provided screws because they can damage the brackets if you aren't careful. Overall, my first install was easier, quicker, and better than I expected. If you use the products in the review you wont be disappointed!

EZ upgrade from factory radio + safe place for phone/sunglasses/etc.
Installation was a breeze and fit my 2009 Smart perfectly. Was never a fan of the stock radio and love having the extra storage below the stereo.

Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX seems to rest against the top of the frame
For two months, the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX has been in place using this Scosche ST2430B in a 2008 Smart Car Cabrio without any problems. Overall this is a great fit and I like it. There were two problems. First on the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX, when I installed the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX into the Scosche ST2430B on the bench there was a gap at the top between the top of the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX and the inner part of the Schosche frame. Once the unit was installed, I could not see the gap between the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX and the Scosche frame. The second problem was that when I installed the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX, the top of the new receiver appears resting against the top of the radio insertion hole. Rather than resting where the factory radio was, it appears that the top is pressing slightly down on the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX. It all worked. Since this was my first radio installation, this could be how it was designed.

Makes adding a single-din radio to the Smart very easy.
NOTE: I bought several products for the same upgrade, so I'm posting the same review with links on each product.I was replacing the double-din factory radio in my Smart 451 Fortwo and this harness made it very easy. The individual wires are labelled by function (ie, left front speaker postive). I had purchased a Dual XDMA6415 receiver with bluetooth built in and the included wiring harness matched up color for color with this Metra harness. I also bought the Scosche DIN With Pocket adapter, which made it very easy to install the radio. This was my first time installing an aftermarket stereo. The wires were pre-cut so you can pull the insulation off. You can either use crimp connectors or simply twist the wires around each (splice) and use electrical tape. With the Schosche pocket and the Metra harness, you can assemble the entire thing outside the car. Once the car's harness just clicks into the Metra harness and everything slides into place. One thing I did not get was an adapter for the antenna. The antenna connector in the car is a flat adapter, whereas most aftermarket stereos have a 1" pin. Be sure to pick one up. It took some searching to find out that the adapter I need is a 40-VW10. I have mine on order, so hopefully it will work.

Looks factory installed.
Looks and fits great. I installed a double din after market receiver/navigation system with a 6.2 LCD. Very happy with the results.
