This is a fairly decent gaiwan. Pours nicely, feels as though it's good quality and the design adds a nice touch as well. I will say that this one in particular is more well suited for sessions of 2+ people. You can make it work with a single person session just be mindful of how much water you are using (I fill it about 25%-30% of water for when it's only me) and take it slowly as the bulkier the gaiwan, the more chance you have of accidentally fumbling/dropping it.

I am getting into various Chinese teas and I wanted to buy a inexpensive gaiwan so I am brewing them correctly. It looks nice and doesn't have lead in it (I checked with a test strip). It is large enough for a generous cup but I feel like I am going to break it because it is porcelain. It is slightly translucent and has enough weight that it can be poured but not so thin that you will burn yourself. I've already made 3 cups of Oolong and pureh so far in 24 hours. I like it and would possibly buy it again.

This is my first Gaiwan, I've been using it to brew gong-fu style and it strains out tea very nicely. The rim extends outwards so it is not too hot to handle even with boiling water. I have not drunk directly from the gaiwan but I imagine it would be possible without burning oneself or making a mess

Good. 1 minor critique is the saucer is pretty basic - gives more English vibes than my other gaiwans. Functional and pretty and a good price. Gets the job done. Size is suitable for a 2-person setting if you use it traditionally (or if you love tea and use it to drink directly out of like I do however it is a tad big to hold in a single hand). Also would work well as a side-dish size soup bowl, too.

Best value. I bought a plain white Gai Wan before. It works great. So I decided to get the second one. This one looks more expensive and elegant with the gray tree painting. Highly recommended.
