I've tried water and washing up liquid, in my sonic bath. That works to some degree. I've also tried isopropyl alcohol, which also works to some degree. This Carbusonic cleaning fluid is by far better than anything else I have used. It becomes fascinating watching the 'clouds' of dirt swirling off my components.

Dilutes at about 10:1 ratio, so there’s plenty for a few mixes of solution in my ultrasonic cleaner.Used it initially to clean a pair of Weber carbs that looked like they’d been left in a shed for 10 years, full of fuel. The varnish was varnished!A few 30 minute cycles and everything was pristine and slides were sliding.Very pleased with the results from it, so far.

I wondered about purchasing this, because of the price. However, with a 10 to one dilution it is extremely effective at cleaning carburettors. I have now cleaned five, and still have plenty left. I have not tried any alternative products, and so cannot compare. However, I highly recommend this.
