IRWIN SPEEDBOR Spade Wood Drill Bit 1/2" X 16" (88708)

Got sick of WIFI so I ran Ethernet cable under my home and this drill bit came thru in making the holes for the cable easy to install. The price was less than half of what my local store charges. It did the job I asked and still has a lot of life left in it! Great bargain!

Worked like it should.

I'm producing rocket logs for sale, which requires boring deep holes repeatedly. I bought this and a fostner bit--the fostner bit is great but requires huge amounts of torque. I stuck this Irwin in a 1/2" air drill, and it is awesome. I've made a bunch of logs already. I'm buying another. The people who say it sucks probably have no clue what they are doing with tools. Worked quite well drilling a palm tree stump I am trying to kill. Seems well made and is very sharp.

Very good bit. I purchased this to bore out holes in newly cut stumps so I can add stump killer. My first use however was to increase the size of a door lock for a new knob. It's very sharp and chews the material out very well. With 12" in length, it will allow me to get down deep enough to get the chemicals deep in the stump or bore through thick pieces of lumber. I'd be careful about possibly bending this, not sue to poor craftsmanship but because of the length and it being easily bent. I can see ordering couple more of these at different sizes down the road for other applications.

The drill bit worked great. It held up well, drilling multiple deep holes into a stump so I could put stump rot in it.

It's a long, cheap drill bit. Went through three old 2x4s on an old wall header with no problem to run some wire in an old house. Wonderful purchase for the price.

It's a 12" long 1" dia. wood bit and it works like any average wood bit. The problem is that it's not made of steel hard enough to take the heat to drill a hole that size and that deep. Bottom line... it drills, but it does not last even if you're careful the way you use it, so if you're drilling more than 10 holes at a time you better buy a few of these to finish your project.

As described. Has a very thick stiff shaft so no wobble at all. Worked perfectly to drill a hole for new plumbing pipes between floors

It's nice to have this long bit for those rare times that you need them. This one is reasonably priced and did a good job for the three holes I had to drill to install a security system.

Good quality. Requires pressure to cut (drill) well, but cuts through 2x4's and floors very well. Stays sharp a long time even after some abuse.
