Initial impressions of the T5 - w/ Update(s)
I’ve got a couple Philco AM radios, and I often listen to old radio shows on my 1952 via a BT adapter I wired into the audio amp stage. I just love the sound… So I’ve been looking at some of the small tube devices offered on Amazon, and after reading many reviews, decided to try out this AIYIMA T5 along w/ a pair of Micca COVO-S Compact 2-Way Passive Bookshelf Speakers. My main intention is to listen to old radio programs and a lot of older materials recorded in mono, so this combination seemed like an affordable start. I also ordered a set of GE 5654 tubes to play with later for comparison.I put everything together in my office yesterday. It fired right up, easily connected to BT, and within moments I had some wonderful baritone Bing Crosby floating down the hallway. I thought the glow of heating elements in the tubes came on awfully quick, and an orange LED mounted inside the tube sockets answered that question. Not totally unexpected. I fully realize this is mostly a solid state device with a tube amp stage in the middle ( I’d love to see a schematic ), but the warm sound is quite amazing! The construction seems quite nice, and it is certainly an attractive little device. I love that it has an RIAA Phono input as I’m about to delve back into some vinyl. The VU meter is a nice touch. I may get a small powered sub-woofer and feed it from the AUX output.I’m really hoping the T5 runs reliably for me. I’m about to put A LOT of hours on it. I’ll report back at some point.Update #1 - Re-acquired my 44yr old Kenwood TT from my brother and replaced the headshell/cartridge with an Audio-Technica AT-XP3/H, then hooked into the T5’s phono input (love that feature), and started spinning my original 1978 Star Wars soundtrack vinyl. It sounded AMAZING!. Have played about 10 early 70’s Jazz albums so far and am very pleased. Regarding the BT, I stream from my Napster acct, and switched the Wi-Fi delivery to “lossless”. Noticeable difference on much of the older Sinatra and Crosby materials that were originally recorded w/out all of the compression of most modern music. I’ve run the T5 for at least 100hrs at low to medium volume (I’m in an office setting) and you can’t believe how many people have stopped by asking about tubes and vinyl, and then comment on how wonderful it sounds! Going to give it another 100hrs then try out the GE tubes I ordered.Update #2 - 1/9/24 - I was listening to a pristine 1962 Count Basie / Duke Ellington album and decided it was time to switch out the stock 6K4 tubes w/ the GE 5654s I ordered. The boxes were dated 10/1987! I easily popped them in ( half the height of the 6K4s ). While they’ll certainly need to burn in for 50-100hrs, they initially have a noticeably warmer/softer quality. Under higher volumes with more complex newer music, the 6K4s seemed to produce some slight distortions in certain passages. I re-listened w/ the GE tubes and I don’t hear the same thing. Seems to be a bit more bass presence as well. Pleased so far. I REALLY love this T5 amp for my office. The BT is performing above my expectations, and the Phono input is excellent. The Micca spkrs have been quite a surprise as well. Sinatra, Streisand, Jazz, and Symphonic materials sound great! Still debating on a small 6” to 8” sub… Likely going to invest in a higher quality cartridge now that I know the turntable is in good shape.

Overall a Winner
Tried quite a few HP amps and this one is among the top given the following: 1) Small, 2) Great noise shielding, 3) Analog meter, 4) Features such as BT, 5) Metal enclosure, 6) Popular tube size, 7) Additional fine tuning knobsReplacing my LittleDot MK3 that suffers from interference, the T5 improves a lot and reduces the noise to 90%+. Here are the cons based on my personal opinion: 1) No power tubes, 2) Power isn't as strong vs MK3, 3) Meter doesn't move much using HP, 4) External transformerOverall, it is a decent HP amp despite my cons. Please note that the Amazon T5 was returned since Aiyima has a new T5 from their own site (bought instead the newer T5). Difference is the missing treble/bass knobs in exchange for dedicated button for on/off/mode, more responsive meter for HP, and 95%+ shielding improvement. In addition, one may select different transformer wattage and plug style.Thank you for reading my honest feedback.

Died after three months of use! No help from Aiyima. Don’t buy!
Don’t waste your money on this amplifier. The company does not stand behind their product.I enjoyed this amplifier while it worked. I was using the amplifier and the sound became extremely distorted. I switched out the source, tubes, speakers, cables, and the DAC. The distortion is coming from the amplifier itself. The issue appears to be the pictured capacitor which failed.I reached out to Aiyima for assistance but they won’t reply. This amp only lasted for 3 months which is unacceptable at any price point, but especially for an amplifier that costs over $100.Please advise on a replacement, refund, or other resolution to this issue.

Best Turntable Amplifier I own...INCREDIBLE Value. Highly Recommend!
I am blown away by this thing.I bought this to use as my primary 2-channel record player/turntable Amplifier, using it's phono connectors. The fact I can connect a subwoofer to the aux-out is a massive bonus, and is something I immediately began using. Plenty, plenty, plenty of clean power...more than enough to drive my RP-600m speakers to a level that fills the house with crisp sound. Capable of playing at uncomfortably high volume levels, which is nice, as it means at my normal listening levels it plays with absolute ease, even when using the phono connection, which is something I could not get to work/sound correct with my previous phono amp (fosi audio).Build quality and materials feel excellent. Fit and finish was also excellent. All my connections fit snug, exactly how I prefer. The glow of the VU meter and the tubes is awesome, my pictures don't do it justice. The included Tubes also surprised me how good they sound out of the box. I played around with swapping them out with GE 5654's (which did sound amazing), but that's mostly a preference thing, the included tubes are more than good enough, but it's great you can easily swap them out as you desire. This thing punches way, way, way above its price point in every aspect. I did test out the bluetooth, and it sounded excellent. My phone immediately/easily paired with it and connected via the highest quality audio bitrate it supports.I'd say this thing is for anyone just getting into 2-channel audio, all the way up to actual "audiophiles" and everyone in between. This is my absolute go-to recommendation now to ANYONE asking about an amp for a turntable...but realistically this thing is also perfectly suitable for those who wish to primarily stream audio over bluetooth. This thing is so good, and so well priced it's perfect who those just entering the hobby, but legitimately is something you can grow your system around. It's great.

Amazing, incredible sound. But began malfunctioning immediately
We received this in a slightly torn box from Amazon, and set it up. I took a chance on this, having very few Amazon reviews and no demo videos I could find. Aside from a couple mentions on Reddit without elaboration, I could uncover very little information on this unit. Straight away, the sound was way in excess of expectations in the phono, RCA/aux, & Bluetooth and Bluetooth connectivity was fast. The T5 has exactly the features I wanted - I didn't need a DAC as on the T9 Pro for this analog-only (+BT) system, and I did need a phono stage since I prefer not to add an external one. I did want a headphone jack.Unfortunately, after under 30min of use, the unit began shutting down. It could only be powered back on by unplugging the power supply and plugging back in, and it wasn't warm so no suspicion it had overheated. Powering on the unit would then almost always shut down completely after only 2-3 seconds making it unusable. Whether this was a problem with the board in the unit or with the power brick I did not troubleshoot. I was not interested in tracking down the fault so I returned it to get a T9 Pro rather than roll the dice on a replacement T5. That model doesn't have the feature set I really wanted but it is common with a lot of available info.
