One Last Time

Noah and Kristin are my new favorite couple!
One Last Time made me realize that I am just addicted to Corinne's books. Each time I read one, I do little else but lose myself in the stories. "This book is funny" she said. "There's no crying!" she said. Yeah right!! Right out of the gate, Corinne gutted me in chapter one. It was a raw and gritty look into the life that Kristin has been living for a long time. Having been in a similar situation myself a long time ago, I could feel everything that Kristin was feeling, each emotion slicing like a sharp knife across my chest. BUT, that only lasted for a brief moment, and Corinne does in fact turn the story in a more pleasant direction. That direction would be Noah Frazier.Kristin and Noah may have just risen to the top of the list of my favorite Corinne couples. Kristin is such a strong heroine, even when she feels like she is failing miserably. And Noah was just swoony to the Nth degree! Their chemistry together is off the charts, and the respect that Noah shows Kristin throughout the story automatically won him points with me.Even though the last thing Kristin needs to do right now is start a relationship with someone, she can't deny the feelings she has for Noah that are growing stronger every day. The way he supports her in every aspect, especially where her kids are involved, shows her that there truly are still good, decent guys out there that know how to treat a woman the way they deserve to be treated.I can't say enough how amazing Noah is in this book! And to learn what his backstory is just made me fall harder for him. He acknowledges his feelings for Kristin even though they scare him because he feels something for her that he hasn't felt for any other woman ever. And when you find that, you don't let it go, no matter what. The path these two traveled was a bumpy one, thanks to Kristin's ex-husband who was a real piece of work. But these two were determined to discover what the future held for them. It was awesome to see all the supporting characters that we first met in We Own Tonight again. If you haven't read that book yet, no worries, you will be meeting a great cast of characters and I guarantee you will want to go back and read that book next, just to see more of them! AND the cameo from two very beloved characters from one of Corinne's earlier works was the best!! Ahhh, I've missed them!!Corinne layers this book with lots of emotion, a good dose of angst and balances it out with some pretty humorous moments and two adorable kids you can't help but fall in love with! I really loved this book!! AND when you get to the end, Corinne provides a link to a bonus epilogue that you don't want to miss. I admit I did cry while reading it, but it was happy, sappy tears. I am hoping beyond hope that Corinne will be bringing us Nicole's story next, she was a hoot in both this book and We Own Tonight, so I know her story is going to be a doozy!

Love Corinne Michaels' rom-coms!
While perhaps a little more romcom leaning than We Own Tonight was, I’m still not sure One Last Time meets those qualifications. I’m still completely on board with Corinne Michaels’ personal brand of romcom, though. There are very few books in that genre I’ve truly enjoyed, but I have loved both of hers. One Last Time is technically a standalone, but it occurs in the same world as We Own Tonight and has a pretty significant crossover from those characters. In fact, the heroine of this book is one of We Own Tonight’s heroine’s best friends. And let me tell you, I really hope we get the other ladies’ stories, too. There is also a sneaky cameo by a couple from one of Ms. Michaels’ other series. All that being said, you do not have to read any other books before reading this one, to understand the storyline. One Last Time is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Kristin and Noah. One Last Time is a feel-good novel. Kristin her struggles - awful, horrible struggles - I wouldn’t wish on anyone, but ultimately this story was about her rediscovering herself. She lost 200 pounds of baggage and found out how much it had been weighing her down and keeping her from finding real happiness. Watching her emerge from under that weight and shed the anchor of her marriage for good was empowering. The fact she had amazing friends to help her through what could have been the most devastating time in her life, made the book that much more special.Noah was wonderful, exactly what Kristin needed to find her way back to becoming a whole person and not the shell her ex had made her into. It was like he had the owner’s manual to her heart and soul, and he was a professional at diagnosing her problems, so he knew the proper steps needed to fix them. They were great together, and I loved their interplay; they read one another so well it felt like they’d known each other for years after their first meeting, rather than days.My only wish for One Last Time is I wish someone would have beat-up Kristin’s useless, waste of space ex. That guy got off light, and I would have loved to have seen him singing in a different register.Corinne Michaels delivers time and time again. Whether it’s her brand of romcom or a hard-hitting, emotional sob-fest, she knows how to pack her stories with poignancy and relatable characters. I always find myself wanting to know more about what happens after ‘the end’ in her stories, I feel like the characters are my friends and having to say goodbye to them at the end of each book is a little bit heartbreaking.

Noah & Kristin
I got an audiobook of this story. I'm still newer to Corinne's writing but every book I've read or listened to is just absolutely incredibly done. I laughed, I cried, I got pissed and so much more. Kristin McGee is newly separated from her husband of 14 years. They share two children, Finn & Aubrey. Her soon to be ex emotionally and verbally abused her for years. After leaving him, she moves into a friends home with the kids and gets a job offer as a celebrity blogger where her first assignment is to interview a TV star, Noah Frasier. The chemistry is immediate and Noah is instantly head over heels, while Kristin is obviously in lust but hesitant to hand her heart back over to someone again. Hearing about Noah with her and her children is beyond swoon worthy. After Noah reveals a secret to Kristin and it gets out to the public, will their relationship be able to survive?I can see why Corinne is on the fast track to become a top author for me. Her writing is incredible & her characters are flawed yet have a vulnerability and realistic feel to them.

Noah and Kristin
Kristin- starting a new life after a failed marriage, with her two kids, new job, and new perspective. Her first assignment though catches her. She has to meet and interview Noah.Noah- is helping his friends’ girlfriends’ best friend. She needs an interview from him. But no one told her she’d look like that. No one told him his life was about to change. What happens to your self esteem when you spend years with a husband that uses love as a reward and instead of lifting you up, brings you down? What happens when two kids have to face their parents marriage ending? This story was beautiful. Shows love makes you stronger, gives you so much more, isn’t selfish, and makes the world better. You get to see the positive effects of meeting Noah. The ramifications of an emotionally abuse ex husband to be, and you cry when someone gets in the middle and breaks up the happiness.I laughed, cried, got angry and felt the love come off these pages. It was erotic, romantic and sweet. This earned more then 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars for me. The right amount of character development, epilogue and drama.I only miss that there isn’t an update in the epilogue about Finn’s love life, or a beautiful glimpse at her best friends. Does her other cousin get a story? Loved the bonus epilogue of 17 years after the start of this story between Kristin and Noah.I saw Nichole’s story will be coming at one point. Will Danielle’s? Or at least a mention if her marriage broke or not with Peter.I’m assuming yes it went well- but how’d meeting the parents go for Kristin and Noah?Did Scott finally be better? I hope so. If you can be a good dad I have hope they can be a good partner one day. I didn’t like how he treated Kristin my ex did the same. But I believe people can change.Cannot wait to read another story. My first by this author- definitely not my last.

Tolles Buch

Move over all other book boyfriends, Noah Frazier is in town. And he's here to stay!
Corinne Michaels has yet again written a book that I didn't want to leave. What she has written is nothing short of inspirational, uplifting and hopeful. This is a second chance romance of epic proportions. Kristin has left behind a verbally abusive marriage and is trying to make a fresh start as a single mother. To support herself and children, she gets a job as a celebrity journalist.Enter Noah Frazier. Kristin's first assignment. He is notorious for not giving interviews or revealing anything personal, and it's Kristin's job to get an exclusive from him.Despite making a fool out of herself, Noah is beguiled by Kristin and wants to see more of her, wants time with her, wants her period. The next thing Kristin knows, she has the hot, the famous and very forthcoming actor coming for her. After years of being mentally beaten down, she finds his interest and attraction in her very hard to believe and so begins their story. From comedic moments, to moody children. From drunken antics to self-deprecating thoughts. This story has it all. I swooned, I fell hard for these characters and I absolutely loved the happy. This story can easily give anyone hope for a better tomorrow after a dark today. The proof that love comes in many ways with a number of facets is shown in Kristin and Noah's story. Now, is time for their happily ever after - they've spent so long looking for it.I have so much love for One Last Time because of its realness and the raw feelings Corinne's writing can invoke in just a few words. You find yourself vying for the HEA and the perfect ending, you can only hope and dream that a love like theirs can be your reality, and you can't help but wish for more from them!

Noah will melt your heart
One Last Time is a story of finding inner strength and trust of others.Kristin McGee has spent the last 14 years married to a man who does nothing but bring her down and make her feel less than she is. When she finally leaves him she's determined to find her place in the world again and be the best mom to her two kids. When her new job assigns her to interview Noah Frazier, actor and friend of Eli Walsh (from We Own Tonight) she finds herself in his sights. There is instant attraction but Kristin isn't ready for all that is Noah but he's determined to have her.Can they overcome their pasts and be stronger together or will unseen factors drive them apart?I just loved that Kristin was able to build herself back up after being in an emotionally abusive marriage and come out a better, stronger woman. And that Noah could be vulnerable and open.Another 5 star read from Ms Michaels.

An uplifting romantic novel
Funny, witty, relatable and uplifting. Cheeky but also layered with emotional depth which becomes apparent as the characters are introduced and their backstories revealed. Tackles a difficult topic of an emotionally abusive ex-partner but is all about the female character, Kristen, moving forward, conquering her inner demons, finding her inner strength and stumbling across the love of her life, Noah. Although cringey at times it is impossible not to warm to the two main characters and relate to their struggles. A very good read and one which I would highly recommend.
