I spent a lot of time looking for baby gates for our all hardwood, four story house when we first found out we were expecting. I really wanted something with a screen and that didn't have a bar across the bottom for fear of tripping on it while holding our baby. I love that this meets both criteria and more! The screen glides really nicely and the hooks can be configured multiple ways based on your preference. I LOVE that you get several sets of hardware so you can very easily unclip the retractable gate from the wall mounts and move somewhere else in the house. Its very simple and extremely practical. My only complaint is that the drywall anchors didn't hold up for long, but to be fair under normal circumstances I think that might have - we have a dog that clawed at the base of it long enough it finally gave in. that said, we replaces the drywall anchors with metal self screwing anchors and it is super secure! I could hang from it and it wouldn't budge. In all, I am really impressed and definitely recommend!

Well made, weather's well outdoors, sturdy. I use it to contain a 100 lbs dog to our back deck and front porch, (We have 3 gates), and they are easy to open and close, and I especially like the lock so the dog can't push it out and go over or under. The best part is I can take it off during the winter and store it inside, and the mounting hardware, which I have the no drill type, is no worse for wear on the spring when I put the gates back out. I would highly recommend this for toddlers and pets, indoor or out.

This retractable gate works perfect for the top of our stairs. The dog I am keeping away from the stairs ran out of the picture frame several time, so he will not be included. Easy to setup, easy to use, and functional for our needs. It does have a tendency to bind if you do not retract it perfectly straight but not a deal-breaker.

We got this gate to put up at an Airbnb to block the stairs so my son wouldn’t fall down. It worked great and was easy to open and shut when needed. It fit the area we needed it for and had everything we needed included. It’s a nice height so my son couldn’t climb over it. We also were able to make it a tight fit so he couldn’t squeeze under it. We did have a sticky come undone a few times but we used it on a material not listed on the usable surfaces so that it our own user issue. We were very happy with this purchase

Installed the product and it was working fine for about a month. We used it at the top of our staircase as a barrier to prevent our twin 1-year-olds from attempting to go down the stairs. Worked perfectly until tonight. Fortunately, it was not our Twins that discovered how flawed this fence is, but rather when operating it as designed, pulling the fence material over and locking it, I gave it a little tug test to be sure it was secure... Well, that tug was enough to rip the whole thing off the mounting bracket. Everything stayed intact fine, but the cheap screws that hold the mounting bracket to the part that sticks to the wall came out. When attempting to screw the bracket back on, it's impossible, the inner threading is stripped. Without the bracket being in the way, the screws will eventually connect and screw it, but with the bracket in the way, the screws are not long enough to allow it to pass through the bracket and secure to the wall. Only wish I discovered this sooner, as I am sure I am outside my return window.

UPDATE: The seller is sending a replacement gate and an extra set of hardware. Due to their responsiveness, I'm changing my rating from 1 to 3 stars. It's still frustrating to have to replace the cracked hardware so soon after minimal use. But I am pleased that the seller did stand behind their product in the end. ORIGINAL: I would have liked this gate if it operated as advertised. After installation, the 2 tabs at the top of the gate (that are supposed to allow the gate to be removed from the mounting hardware) were dysfunctional and would not allow the gate to be released. Additionally, the hardware that latches the gate shut (both the "hook" attached to the wall and the "loop" (that is attached over the mesh wrapped pole which gives the gate it's structure) which slides into the "hook") were quite flimsy plastic that cracked when my toddler tried to go under the gate. 3 big frustrations: 1. Gate dysfunctional--manufacturer/quality control error--gate will not release to be moved to a 2nd location. 2. Seller was initially responsive then dropped all contact w/o following thru to replace the gate 3. Hardware is flimsy and does not withstand toddler strength. 2 smaller frustrations: 1. Gate is not easy to use with one hand 2. Gate wrinkles easily as it is retracted, leading to incomplete retraction. Initially the seller was responsive and asked for more detail saying that they could send a 2nd gate and that I would then have 2 gates to use (one that didn't work right and one that (hopefully) did work as advertised), however, after replying to their request to provide more information, they replied that they hadn't heard from me and were following up, so I resent the info and followed up with an additional email (the only contact info available) to request confirmation of their receipt and have not heard from them, nor have I received my replacement gate.

We got this baby gate to keep our toddler out of our kitchen. It is very easy to quickly pull out, latch, then lock. It is incredibly durable. My toddler will run fill force at it, or hang off of it and it is still as good as new. We didn't end up using the sticky pads it came with, so we screwed it directly in the wall. The mesh fabric is somewhat see-through, which makes my toddler mad because he can see through, but cannot go through it so if you are trying to mentally block off the room for your toddler as well as physically block it off, I wouldn't recommend it. It works very well for our set up and we have had no issues with it during the whole year we have had it.
