Living in a mostly cold climate the amount of time I can spend lying half naked on a mat is virtually nill. wish the plastic needles were strong enough to feel while wearing clothing. After a few weeks getting use to it, I absolutely love it.It does take some time to get use to, but it works best when done on bare skin. I currently use in whenever I feel restless or have any sort of back pain. I sometimes lie flat on it, but usually use it in a recliner or with a wedge pillow. I frequently fell asleep on the mat when relaxing before bed. Sadly, that part led to an unhappy husband, so I don't use it daily anymore.The more sensitive members of my family use this with a sheet over top, and like it very much.The full body relaxation this helps achieve even helps with restless legs. When having back spasms, the nails provide resistance areas that (at least seem to) impede the spasms, helping to calm and eventually stop them.I later purchased the neck pillow version of this, which I use for headaches.
