Great value in an almost gym-like build quality
As a 66-year-old retiree who has stayed active over the years, I look for equipment that challenges my cardiovascular health without being overly taxing on my joints. After testing the Sunny Health & Fitness Smart Upright Row-N-Ride Trainer, I’ve found it to be a surprisingly robust addition to my home routine. Here is my detailed assessment based on several weeks of use: 1. The Experience: Low-Impact Cardio for Seniors Initially, I was worried this might be a "gimmick" machine, but the range of motion is actually quite smooth. I use this for 20-minute sessions four mornings a week. Because you are seated and "assisted" during the squat phase, it takes the jarring pressure off my knees that I usually feel with traditional floor squats. Heart Rate: I can easily get into my target "zone 2" cardio range within 5 minutes. Stamina: Unlike a treadmill, which can feel monotonous, the rowing motion engages my core and arms, making the workout feel more "total body" and less like a chore. 2. Quality of Build & Ease of Use The build quality is excellent for this price point. The frame is heavy-duty steel and feels stable even when I'm at the top of the rowing motion. Assembly: As someone who usually dreads "some assembly required," I was pleased that this took me less than 25 minutes. Most of the main frame comes pre-assembled; you primarily just attach the seat, handlebars, and pedals. The "Smart" Connection: The Bluetooth synced instantly with the app. I don’t use all the advanced features, but having a digital trainer on the screen helps keep my pace consistent. 3. Gap-Filling Details (What the Listing Misses) While the listing mentions the 330lb capacity, it doesn't emphasize how small the footprint is. Storage: When folded, it’s about the size of a standard ironing board. I tuck mine behind the bedroom door, and at roughly 30 lbs, it's light enough for me to move without straining my back. Resistance Reality: There are three resistance bands. For a cardio-focused workout, I suggest starting with just one band. Using all three makes it much more of a "strength" trainer, which can make it harder to maintain a high-enough RPM for a cardio burn. 4. Balanced Objectivity Pros: Self-Leveling Pedals: This is a huge win for stability. My feet feel "locked in" regardless of the squat depth (30, 60, or 90 degrees). Whisper Quiet: I can workout while my husband is sleeping in the next room; there’s no motor noise, just the faint stretch of the bands. Cons: The Seat: While padded, it is a bit firm. For longer sessions (30+ mins), I’ve started using a small towel for extra cushioning. Handlebar Reach: If you are under 5’2”, you may find the reach a bit long even on the lowest setting. At 5'5", it fits me perfectly. 5. Who Is This For? This is the perfect machine for the "Active Senior" or anyone recovering from minor joint issues who needs a way to keep their heart rate up at home. It’s significantly more effective than a folding exercise bike because it prevents the "hunching" posture and forces you to engage your back and glutes.

Very nice machine
I like that this is light enough for me to move easily (and I'm not a very strong woman) & it's quick to fold up & down. I hate having to monkey around with a bunch of steps just to use something, esp if it's something I'm going to use often. Thankfully this is very easy & fast to set up & take down. It's also very stable & sturdy. I'm not a small person, so I'm always a little worried about stuff like this, but once I got on it, it was totally steady under me & while I use it. I use it on my shag carpet rug that takes up much of my living room & even still it's completely stable & sturdy. I did have to put it together after it arrived but that was not too hard. The directions were easy to follow & I got it done by myself in about 40 minutes. I like that it links with Bluetooth to the app so I don't have to input anything, it just tracks it automatically. I also appreciate that it has lots of ways to change the workout. The seat can be higher or lower depending on how much effort you want to put into it, there are 3 resistance bands that attach to the bottom if you want to increase the difficulty level, and if you're weak like me, you can just not use them at all & rely on just your own bodyweight. The seat can also adjust forward & back to fit your height & the handles also adjust as well. The seat is also comfortable. I'm picky about soft seats, so I was worried, but so far it's been very comfy. The app that it connects to is very useful, as well. It has workout routines specifically for this (and their other) machines so if you're unsure how to get the most out of a workout with it, the app can help with that. I recently did one for this machine that was focused on my upper body & it had me holding the handles in a way it had never thought of in order to target my arms, back and chest. So the free app and free workouts in the app are also great & help me get the most out of this.

Definitely recommend
Easy to assemble! Comfortable and has multiple seat and handle bar settings for different heights. Definitely a great workout when using. Works legs, arms, stomach and thighs all at once. Definitely recommend.

Equal to $80, good for beginner to moderate workout
Jury is kind of still out, though for now, it’s pretty much what I was expecting. I’d say though, this $80 price range, it’s what I’d expect for that amount and I wouldn’t pay anymore for this precise unit. I like the Sunny brand, their machines seem to be pretty standard stuff, as compared with other off-brand type of equipment, as in, I feel more comfortable that whatever I receive from them will be top of the line of the generic type equipment, lol. The way that it setup, it had more of a deep/wide stance (depending on how you look at it), I’m trying to think of the scriptures to relay exactly what it is that I’m referring to, you’ll see in the photos. It’s, like, “splayed” out more than the pictures depict and looking at other photo reviews, I don’t think it’s anything that I did wrong during set up, I just think that it’s laid out differently they on the photos, which intern takes up more space. It’s not a dealbreaker, I made it work, just wanted to note. I got the one with the three separate resistant bands, if you’re looking for any type of resistance/working out, then definitely select the one with the resistance band options. The seat is comfortable enough and overall it does what it is that I was looking for. You’ll need to wear some type of shoes or slippers, as the plastic gripping on the foot rest make bare feet/socked-feet impossible. OK, I think that’s about it. I will try to include a handful of photos, since I always find that super useful when I’m looking over reviews myself.

265lb tested and approved
I'll admit.. I was skeptical lol It's pretty nice. Was easy enough to set up, the feet and the tools they give you don't fit perfectly so be sure to have some tools ready but nothin' that your average junk-drawer or dusty'ol odds & ends tool bag wouldn't have so it was fine. The counter seems to work well, it's a bit touchy so make sure to reset it before you start. I weigh about 265lbs, feels solid and not at all awkward to sit or straddle, the peddles are a good length apart that a bigger person wouldn't feel like they have to squeeze in, it feels natural. It stands folded a bit taller than myself, I'm 5ft 1 but takes up little floor space, about 1ft X 1 1/2ft. Overall, very satisfied, can think of no complaints.

I love this!
I just finished putting this together and tried it out. The product was well packaged and the parts labeled so that it was very easy to put together. The directions are clear and everything fit together perfectly. I have had some purchases that I had to fight with to get together because the pieces didn’t quite fit or the screws and holes didn’t line up. This was perfectly aligned. I have only used it once and it worked well. It was challenging, but I will have to build up my minutes on it. So far, I really like it.

A Great Little Machine!
Very impressed with the quality of this machine, especially at such an affordable price. Sturdy but not too heavy to move about. Being a senior though, like me, it would take some strength to fold it up and carry it somewhere to store it. I just received it today. Kudos to the mfg. for their excellent assembly instructions! Do not get overwhelmed with all of the tiny numbers in the diagrams. Go step by step in the manual, very clear! Look at the bubble wrap package of parts VERY clearly numbered by Step #. You will see how FEW parts you will need to assemble it. DO check the video if you get stumped. I will say the only part I REALLY struggled with was Step #3. The bolt JUST would not line up with the hole. I finally got it in but it should not be that difficult. I am a very out of shape 70-something and found going into a full squat even without using any resistance bands hurt my knees so I will use it at my own comfort level taking baby steps at a time to start. Being able to adjust the seat and handle bar helped a lot. My main goal really is simply to strengthen the muscles in my legs. especially my thighs.

Me encantó
Era lo que quería, porque te ejercita toda. Diariamente de lunes a viernes hago 15 minutos de ejercicio. Iré aumentando poco a poco para no agotarme, pues sólo busco no perder masa muscular.
