Took awhile to get programmed, but was able to get it after a few tries. Then it worked great.

I have a LiftMaster garage door opener that was brand new in 2010. I was able to program in the new code for the keypad following the instructions that came with the keypad. But the rest of the instructions did not work at all to link the keypad and opener for my LiftMaster garage door. I tried pushing the enter button for every possible color of learn button on the garage door motor like the instructions said but nothing would work. So I went on YouTube and found multiple videos of people showing different ways to program their keypad. If the supplied instructions don't work for you, below is the one that worked for me. After programming new code on keypad... 1. Press and hold the star and pound key until the lights stop flashing on the key board. 2. (Within 10 seconds) Press the learn button on the garage door opener motor(don't hold). 3. Within like 10 seconds enter your code on the key pad and hit the enter button {don't hold). 4. One you hear a click on the motor, push the zero button once to end programming. Then push the enter button and it's programmed. {The click is when the keypad and opener link together) After I got it programmed by finding instructions that worked on YouTube, the keypad works great. There are multiple other videos on YouTube of people doing it different ways if this one doesn't work for you. If the seller had supplied multiple sets of instructions to cover all the different ways to program a keypad I would have given it five stars. But I had to really go out of my way and search YouTube to find a way to make their product actually work.

Just installed. Easy to program. Lots of YouTube info on programming. Most all are for Liftmaster/Chamberlain keypads. None for 3rd party generic universal pads like this. Appears this specific keypad paired with my 2006 opener’s purple Learn button does NOT permit “1 button Close” using the Enter button. Lots of talk about 9 + 1 buttons to enable 1 button close. For THIS case all the 9+1 sequence does is disable/enable need for PIN. 9+1 and lights flash twice (2x) ENABLES the need for PIN to open door. (Normal operation) 9+1 again and lights flash 4 times (4x) DISABLES the need for PIN. And then the pad operates like a standard wall-mounted remote opener usually placed inside the garage. Not very secure. Anyone can open your door by simply pressing the enter button. In no case was I able to get the door to close using only the Enter button. If anyone has been able to program THIS specific keypad paired with the very common PURPLE OPENERs to get 1 button CLOSE using only the Enter button, please help. Reply here.
