Movie for all ages
We saw this at the theater, it was so good had to watch it again. We don't have any kids anymore so it was two adults enjoying a great movie. The story really follows the theme of the 1971 movie, explains a lot. A great family movie, even for us big kids

Too much of a musical and didn't tell a great story
The new Wonka movie had some fun moments, but overall, I found it lacking in depth.First off, it’s definitely more of a musical than I expected, and while the songs are catchy, there were way too many of them. The constant musical numbers sometimes took away from the story, and it felt a bit overdone. I understand they wanted to add a whimsical, lighthearted element, but it started to feel like the plot was more of a backdrop to the music rather than a central focus. As for the story itself, it didn’t dive as deep as I thought it could. There was potential to explore Willy Wonka’s character and backstory in a more meaningful way, but the narrative felt a bit surface-level. It was enjoyable enough, but I was hoping for more character development and a deeper exploration of how he became the eccentric chocolatier we know and love.Overall, it’s a fun movie if you’re in the mood for a musical, but if you're expecting a deep, rich story about Wonka's origins, you might be a little disappointed.

Obsessed with Timothee’s Voice
I am a bit critical and severely snake like when it comes to reviewing films. My upbringing lend me very little room for my mother, asking after the end of the movie, but the moral of the story is, what the take away from the story is. Any show one watches without learning a lesson is an investment poorly made according to my mother. This masterpiece hits every single note from costume design, to cast selection, to creating a seamless storyline of Willy Wonka before he became the famous Willy Wonka and of course, out of the incredible cast, Timothee swept me away and listening to a YouTube of him singing “Pure Imagination” (one at the end - not going to do spoiler) touches my soul, and away that allows for the scales of grief that one can only feel after losing the most precious of loved ones simultaneously, bring a smile, the warmest, heartfelt, safety space feeling from his rendition of the song. And watching the movie, two other favorites emerged: “ you’ve never had chocolate like this” and “A world of your own.” WOW!!!If you’re an adult child of a dysfunctional family, have unresolved grief from having lost a parent, I want to recapture, if not for a moment, the traumatized cared for and loved child full of curiosity and imagination… this movies for you. For those children, I think they’ll just really enjoy the music.5000 stars for this movie/musical!
