Similar to the MDF 767 Sprague Rappaport, it is five stethoscopes in one for a full range of diagnostic applications and is traditionally trusted to detect faint heart sounds and murmurs. The innovative, patented X-configuration tubing eliminates the rubbing of traditional Sprague Rappaport dual tubing that can cause acoustic interference. Healthcare professionals can assess adult, pediatric, and infant patients using this classic, versatile design. Chestpiece: The handcrafted zinc-alloy dual-head convertible chestpiece is precisely machined for high performance and durability. Using the included accessory kit, the adult and pediatric diaphragm assemblies can be removed and replaced with adult, pediatric, and infant bells. Acoustic Tubing: Constructed of latex- PVC, the patented 2-in-1 X-configuration non-stick acoustic tubing maintains two uninterrupted sound transmission channels to preserve acoustic integrity while sealing out extraneous sounds, even in high-noise conditions. The thicker, denser PVC construction prevents the cracking and wearing that can occur from repeated use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Modest cost Stethoscope that works really well

I bought a cheaper (£8) stethoscope and was very dissappointed with its performance. I had hoped to hear a hedgehog's breathing. Human Lung sounds were OK, heart beat very faint. When I looked for something better, I discovered that many reviewers complained of the same thing, even on much more expensive branded models.The reviews for this MDF scope where very encouraging and I liked its adapability, the head can be configured in 3 ways.The listing makes it look like you are getting 3 different heads, but what you get is a pack of parts to change the configuration. I haven't tried doing this yet. The stethoscope also comes with 3 different sizes of ear bud. The cheaper version became very uncomfortable after a few minutes of use, it felt like it was trying to go through my ears.So what's it like? I agree totally with the previous reviwers. It is perfect. Heartbeat sounds are as I was expecting, I can even hear the pulse in my wrist. Lung sounds are good too. I don't know if the design (Sprague Rappaport) that makes the difference but this device works really well.The 180 degree head twist from hi to lo frequency is quite firm, which I think is good.I haven't tried it on the hedgehog because he's responded well to his treatment for lungworm and since he's wild, I don't want to handle him unnecessarily.So if you are looking at cheaper sethoscopes, I would suggest you consider paying a bit more for this one (£25), you won't be dissapointed.I see that this is not available anymore and MDF Direct are out of stock.
