Full metal trans for FCX18
Great little transmission. Mine came greased and with hardware for mounting motor and servo bracket. No binding or fitment issues with the Injora 180 48T motor. My FCX18 LC80 is back on the road and rips. I did keep the stock wire linkage as that worked best for me.

Somewhat easy to install, nice transmission.
Shipped fast , some what east to install, I did resort to Amazon photo to see how the servo mount fit on. The gears were greased up. My buddy said he had to grease his. Two speed works great. Nice upgrade finish.

Great fit super smooth
Drop in fitment was perfect. Gears not greased upon arrival. Add grease is recommended. Once installed, runs very smooth knowing they are copper cogs in there. Noise level is slightly higher than before - barely noticeable and it is still quieter than my scx24. I reused the stock transmission spring as I cannot figure out how the new spring works. Good news is that stock spring works and changes gear just fine. I used injora brass motor mount on the bottom and injora drive rod. All fitting just fine no issue at all. Chassis is more responsive than before clearly a benefit for crawling.

Amazing transmission on fcx18 LC80
Installed on my FMS FCX18 LC80. I’m rating this 4 stars even though it’s absolutely amazing! After I mounted the motor to the trans I plugged it in and it would bind and not spin in either gear. I had the same issue with an almost identical trans from generic which I returned due to binding. I bought this one because it came with the aluminum servo mount and had hopes the motor wouldn’t bind with it, but it did. If I slightly loosened the motor to trans screws it would free up and spin. Obviously you can not leave the screws loose. So what I did was left the motor loose and plugged into the controller and in first gear lightly applied throttle while evenly slightly tightening both motor mounting screws while the motor is spinning the flywheel, until tight and motor still spinning the entire time. Stopped the motor, then tested out both speeds and it works perfectly! I also opened the trans case and applied Mercedes Benz wheel bearing grease to all gears which are brass, and greased the motor to flywheel gears and reassembled. This is all very easy to do with the right tools. Took me about 45 minutes total including the time to figure out how to make it work. Hope this helps. If you follow these instructions it will not bind and it does fit and work perfectly. Shifts smoothly, adds weight and is quiet. Looks cool too! It did come lightly greased, I felt it needed more for my peace of mind.

Fits perfectly
Very very well made and fit perfectly in the fms Toyota Lc 80 brushless. A huge upgrade and some much needed weight.

My solution to FMS ridiculous warranty requirements.
Six days after unboxing my FMS FCX18 LC80 it developed a clicking noise in low gear when under load. High gear and everything else worked well. I called FMS support and they had me check all sorts of things. Then they insisted I take a video of it and upload it and until I do that they can't help me. Six days old! I wish I had purchased it here at Amazon. I got mad and bought this metal transmission. Anyway, this all-metal transmission was my solution. It was fun to install but a bit of a project. (much easier than rebuilding the old one with the metal gear kit that is also available). The transmission was lightly greased but I added a little more. Those metal gears looked so much better than the nylon OEM gears. And yes I opened up the original transmission and the low-speed gear was in bad shape. These metal gears should last a long time and now it climbs without clicking. It's quieter overall and much more robust. If you plan to do any rock climbing, adding brass weights and all that stuff then this transmission should pay for itself easily.

BEST GEARBOX FOR FXC18
Read some other reviews about fitment/alignment issues, and was prepared to do some fiddling to get everything adjusted properly. Either I got lucky, or this thing is perfectly cut, but I had no issues at all getting this installed and set up! I did open it up and add some more grease, but otherwise it bolted right up. I paired it with the injora 180 pro motor, and wow this setup RIPS! It's also quite a bit quieter than the stock plastic gearbox was. (I had metal gears in mine and it was really noisy) I've been beating on it for a few months and it's held up to all of it. The metal housing sort of acts like a motor heatsink which is a plus. Not to mention that it looks really cool too. Can't recommend this highly enough, don't mess around... GET THIS UPGRADE!

Not good
Swapped the motor onto the new transmission and the gear from the motor binds with the transmission gear. Doesn’t work unless I loosen the bolts holding the motor to the transmission. I can’t leave the motor attached to the transmission loose. Looks like it’s getting returned.
