I have previously used another device that was more expensive but due to the fact that it needed to be plugged into an outlet and I had moved countries, I ended up leaving it behind. When the Closeup device arrived I was so happy that it is battery operated so it is easy to travel with and you don't have to worry about charging it (who really needs to add more items to their to-do list!)
