Well worth it for us old Intellivision gamers.
Back when the Intellivision was one of the major consoles, I was a huge, huge fan of Treasure of Tarmin (now Minotaur) and bought this system solely to play this game again. I've only played a few of the games, and there are subtle differences. Like in Minotaur, you don't hear a click every time you change direction or move (a sound which you'd think would be annoying just reading this review, but it really wasn't). The angry 'buzz' sound is missing from the audio selection, too. The picture on all the games is a little fuzzy for some reason, not unplayable fuzzy or even irritating fuzzy, but you can see it. I've read that it's like this on all LCD screens. For me, the controllers seemed a little different. I had to push the calculator buttons a little harder than I remember and the main controller button was looser than I remember - but that might have been because I owned an Intellivision 2. But the above is very minor. The setup is simple... I opened the box and was playing in under 5 minutes, and the games are 99% perfect. I'd have liked to see Burgertime on here, but other than that (and the weird addition of edutainment games which no-one is going to play) the selection is excellent. The system comes with controller overlays for about 15 of the games, and they look and feel just like the originals. Not all of the games have overlays though. Overall I'm very happy. I'd consider this system to be worth it even if it had no other games other than Minotaur, but with the selection of 60+ games with this level of quality, good controllers, and overlays included it is a great buy. If you're an old Intellivision gamer, you've got to get this.

Five stars for nostalgia and fun, one star for construction quality and not including all the overlays.
I am basically giving this four stars because it is so nostalgic and I've had enough fun in one night to justify the entire cost. Let's face it, a dinner out with the wife and some drinks would run me this much and a few hours compared to the six hours straight I got out of playing every single game on this. It's a ridiculous amount of fun. I plug in my old Intellivision II once ever year or so, and despite being an engineer who has soldiered and fixed the unit many times, it's growing more fragile with time. This was a welcome addition. Way better than the emulators or things like Intellivision Lives. The experience here is complete - controllers and all. When the next one comes out, I'll buy it. And the one after that. And everything they make. Seriously. All that being said, there are some limitations and things I'd change: 1. The cables are all too short - it's very difficult to leave this in the AV cabinet because you need to drag the console closer to you to use the controllers, but the power and AV cable are too short to do that, so you end up sitting two feet in front of the TV. When I had the 12" one in the corner of the old apartment when I was 12, that was fine. Sitting that close to the 72" plasma is killing my brain and eyes. 2. The AV cable is not detachable from the unit. When it breaks, and it will, it will require soldiering. A removable cable would have increased reliability of something that I can tell is already taking a lot of strain. 3. There seems to be a delay in the control response, and it's much "jerkier" than the original. What I mean is that when I barely tap it in Astrosmash, for example, it jumps too far to the left or right and there is a human perceptible delay. 4. The game overlays are more important than I remember. I found myself digging out the old ones to be able to play. 5. I wish the controller snapped into the unit when not in use like in the old days for storage. 6. It's pretty cheaply made - I have plastic bubbles coming up under the stickers that make up the gold(ish) areas, and even some of the overlays are bubbled and coming apart. 7. Still, it should come with a time limit where it reminds you that you need sleep, water, and food periodically because it's too much fun. Also, be sure your TV has a those old RCA-style AV inputs (the yellow and white, not the RGB component video). Only one of our TVs still has them.

LOVE THIS new system
I had original system and INTV system and PS2 Intellivision Lives along with Mac emulators... LOVE THIS new system. No need to plug in games. It has more than enough games...great ones too! Minotaur is my favorite along with Baseball. Many games were well thought out so who cares about HD or fancy graphics. Sea Battle, Astrosmash, etc... Scroll through games list using controller...easy. Authentic hand controllers. I prefer wired to wireless myself so again it is authentic. Takes less space than original console. Relive great memories from 35 years ago. Always had better graphics and quality games than Atari 2600 system that I had. If you played original system then I highly recommend...I bought 2 just to have a backup. If they throw another Intellivision console with another batch of games (if they can get the licenses) then I'm in again! 👍

A blast from the past, Intellivision returns with 60 classic titles able to be played as intended, on a miniaturized Intellivision console with exact replica controllers. Grew up with the original Intellivision in the early 80's and as soon as I heard this set was being released I bought it instantly. A must have item for a retro gamer, a fan of oldschool gaming in general or simply a collector of vintage video games from the dawn on the console era. Provides both a comforting nostalgic look back to my early childhood, but also makes me appreciate just how far gaming has come from the Intellivision age to the Playstation 4 age and as someone who has been a lifelong gamer, you really need to see the beginning of the gaming console age to appreciate where it is now. Only negatives I can mention are that the item only works on analogue TV's, so unless you have an older set lying around you may need to pick up an adapter to use the item. There are also a few notable classic titles missing from the game collection, but I suppose there is always the possibility of an Intellivision Flashback Volume II, as Atari has done with their consoles.

Sadly I wasn't able to play this game and satisfy my flash back game instinct. The toy had a failure. Plase consider to ask the vendor to check this product before they send it to you. Best regards.
