I should have listened to my husband--and all the negative reviews--and not purchased this, but I did. The color of it is nice. That's it. My husband, our adult kids and I tried it straight. We tried it in an Old Fashioned. Finally, we tried it in a Manhattan (still using alcoholic Sweet Vermouth.) All 3 ways it was undrinkable. We poured everything down the drain. It takes like a combination of fake smoke and dishwater. It in no way takes like bourbon. I guess I was expecting a watered down version of something that actually tasted similar to bourbon. This does not. Do not waste your money. If you want to have a drink that is non alcoholic and still tastes good, buy the 0% alcohol Guinness beer, which is outstanding.

Not bourbon. It is rather sweet tasting. Mixed 50/50 with real bourbon it makes for a nice cocktail if you are trying to cut back on alcohol consumption. It is very $. For its price you could buy a top of the line good tasting bourbon.

I read a ton of reviews that say this is terrible. I am here to tell you that they were wrong. So hear me out: I've been sober for some time and thought to myself "Self, odouls is a thing so why not try the odouls of liquor?" That was my motivation here and I am here to tell you that when I received this item, it blew my mind a tiny little bit. After I had recovered from the small melon explosion, I checked the bottle again because when I smelled this, it smelled exactly like whiskey. I checked the bottle and sure enough this was 0.1% alcohol. Does it taste like a tasty whiskey? Of course not. If you can drink real whiskey, why are you buying NA? Does it have the same burning in the mouth? No it's made of water and whiskey mash that has not fermented or something. This is NOT whiskey. It's a whiskey like beverage. If you are looking to sip something straight, you will probably be disappointed because it tastes worse warm. If you do use an ice cube, it does taste much better. I didn't mix it, but I imagine it isn't terrible. I seriously think people who write these bad reviews can drink real whiskey, so of course compared to that it's terrible. The smell is seriously similar to the point where I did actually check the bottle a few times after smelling. I'm twelve years sober and it seriously spooked me. Then again, I haven't had real whiskey in 12 years...so take that how you will. I was impressed with the box that it came in, and the care that came with the bottle. It seriously looks legit. My only real complaint is the wood bit that attaches to the cork did pop off, so I couldnt properly reseal it when I got to the bottom of the bottle. I would say if you are thinking about this, get a small bottle. If you are expecting whiskey, this ain't it. If you are expecting to grow your beverage options to an oddly whiskey smelling and looking beverage, then this may just be for you!

I could not figure out how to make a cocktail that resembled in taste a Manhattan or Old Fashioned.

It is a earnest attempt to make a NA Bourbon, the company is onto something, the bottle and packaging was really well done, I liked the cocktail booklet that was included. The taste for me just wasn't there as I been a Bourbon drinker for some time, I usually drink it neat which I realize is the toughest head to head comparison for this product. It looked and smelled like Bourbon but the taste was something I just couldn't get past. In mix drinks its very easy to make something that is drinkable. So if you are looking to cut out alcohol, this might be right for you. I completed a dry January and this has extended into Feb. If I go out to dinner I have a beer, I never drink cocktails if I'm driving only when I'm at a special events when I'm not driving will have have a Manhattan on the rocks. So give it try if your drink of choice is a mixed cocktail? If you drink your bourbon neat like I do, its still worth a try since everyone's tastes are different. In the Fall and Winter and love the Octoberfest, Stouts and Porters, cutting those out since Jan I've lost 33 pounds. I haven't seen 217 in pounds in 3 years. I'm 6'2 and more active than most at 58. Bottom line, too much beer will put on the pounds! I understand all distilled products have less sugar and calories, the beers that I enjoy are like drinking a meal. Good luck everyone!
