SO LIFELIKE
Waxwork 1 & 2, Vestron Collection, Bluray, Region A.A truly top-notch double feature from director Anthony Hickox.Wander around the museum but don't touch the exhibits!,the first film is comedy/horror, the second is bat flit crazy! Both films are 16:9, 1.85:1, both with beautiful picture quality, and both have directors commentary with various extras.Waxwork is unrated, Waxwork 2 is R rated, both are uncut.

Not for UK
Loved these when I was younger so wanted to rematch them, but couldn't find them on streaming services. So saw this and was glad. I was however really disappointed when I put the disc into my PS4 and it said it was no compatible with my region (UK).

Superb work from Vestron- double blu-ray Waxwork.
Both films are presented in very good image and sound quality. The first film remains superior, while the second is more of a satire of the idea of the first. But both are well supplied with supplements on the production of these small horror films.Wax museums are great for strange stories.

Spectacular Vestron Release, Two Films Plus A Full Length Documentary Retrospective, Just Because They Care
I hate admitting this, because these films aren't exactly the embodiment of any cinematic gold standard, but, truly, I adore these silly little films. They just make me happy. Taking that for granted, I am not reviewing the films, as I usually don't, others can do that better, but, rather, I am commenting on the Blu-ray set itself. This set is wonderful. The film transfers are remastered efforts, not the same as the old worn out DVDs. The color is excellent on both, although there is mild color fading in comparison to what would be seen on a brand new film. There is a noticeable variation in grain on both films, owing to the need of the restoration team to use slightly more aggressive measures to remove specks when they hit more degraded sections of the celluloid on their digital transfers. The result is a give and take. Where it was possible to leave more grain, due to less specks and flecks, they did. When they had to remove defects, a bit of grain went with them. It seems to me an admirable job was done on both films. The sound on both is wonderful, robust and even. The extra features included commentaries and a making-of featurette along with a few things you won't care about when you notice that, on the Waxwork disc, there is a full-length, one hour and twenty-two minute, retrospecitive documentary, basically, an extra film. This is really a three film set, when you consider that addition, and I loved every minute of it. Adding that to the quality of the films themselves, I have to say that this is one of the best releases Lionsgate's Vestron sub-label has put out there. If you like the films, you will love this release. It really is very impressive work on the part of the Vestron team. Good luck finding what works for you.

Fantastic movie! Bad seller.
The movies are great and highly recommended. The only bad part is the seller Quick Clix decided to place their sticker on the cardboard sleeve which isn't wrapped in plastic. I would recommend finding a different seller that doesn't do this to buy from.

THE Release to buy. Full stop. Ignore the other listings. The Vestron release is the one you need
They never looked this good before.I'm a huge fan of both Waxwork movies, and this has cemented my love for them in the best way.The first disc has what's likely to be the game-changer for many fans. A 6 part, full-length documentary on the making of both films, with some excellent insight on them both, and a lot of great stories from behind the scenes. And both discs have a commentary with Anthony Hickox and Zach Galligan, so this has been loaded down with every reason you need to want to buy it immediately.Having gone through all the special features already, I can confirm that this is the best possible release of the Waxwork movies. If you enjoyed either of them, GET THIS.

Great transfer of an average film.
I collect the Vestron Collectors Series films which is the only reason I bought this. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed both of these movies though. Part 1 is better but the 2nd one is worth a watch. The transfers done on all these films are amazing.
