Windows 7? Works a treat.
Does what it says on the tin. Be very aware though, you'll need a dvd drive to load the software. I also used it to digitise a whole stack of cassettes I've had for years.... I was astounded at the sound quality... those old cassettes were thirty five years old!I can highly recommend this product. As an addendum; The capture card was plugged into a usb port and I used the provided software for video capture but I used Audacity to record the cassettes. Faultless.

Video transfer - Love it
Very pleased with this device. I have now been able to transfer all the old videos of my kids etc from VHS tapes to my PC and then share with family and friends.

Bit of a steep learning curve but does a decent job.
Okay, let's get the bad out of the way first - The documentation for this device and its associated software is frankly awful. I work with computers for a living and I had a few false starts before I got it doing what I wanted it to, so if you're a novice or nervy with computers, set aside an hour or so to just play around with it.e.g. If you want to capture something more than an hour or so long for playing back on a computer or home network use the 4gb wmv option because the 700meg option will stop when the filesize hits 700meg (about 58 minutes on 'best' quality).I've captured about 15 hours of old stuff since I got the unit this week and it's done a great job. On my setup once or twice it went bananas and turned the recording green and I had to redo it, but I am blaming my laptop running windows updates in the background.BUTI'm using an up to date copy of Windows 10 and the device driver on the disk I got worked fine, as does the capture software itself. That's a major plusOnce you get the settings the way you want them and your computer is behaving itself, this kit works as well or better than other more expensive devices for basic use. The sound quality and volume is good (My old Kworld device always messed this up first go) and the .wmv files I've captured are really good played back on my 40" TV.TL:DR : A bit tricky to get the hang of but it's a bargain.

Sadly not useful for my purposes
I ordered this gadget because I wanted to convert old vhs tapes filmed on a camcorder in the 90s and early noughties into digital files that could be saved on a computer or hard drive. It is pretty straight forward to use as long as you have a vhs player and a computer. The image recorded was good but the sound was very distorted and basically inaudible static and screeching - not pleasant! I tried researching the problem online and I also posted on the mygica website but no reply and no help that I could find. Fortunately my son was able to work out that the issue was that the sound in the tapes could only be effectively read and captured using a scart connector. So, I then ordered a Rybozen usb digital video adapter audio and video scart grabber. It was twice the price of this grabber but it works and it can convert both image and sound. Unfortunately I found this all out too late to get a refund but I hope that my review may be useful to those of you attempting the same thing.

Tried Windows 10 and 8 No Picture
I installed the driver on a windows 10 and a Windows 8 machine, both 64 bit. I had the choice between a black picture when there was a valid composite video input, and blue when there wasn't.The driver installer appeared to be very similar to that of an old Windows XP grabber, so I suspect that the software is very old and not compatible with some newer machines.

Software und/oder Teiber funktionieren nicht!
Ein Freund bat mich einige VHS-Videos auf DVD/CD zu überspielen, da er weder Videorecorder noch PC besitzt. Also diesen Grabber bestellt, Software und Treiber installiert. Soweit so gut.

otherwise very happy with the product
Arrived within a reasonable time frame. Worked well with little problems including installation. Video editing is a bit cumbersome. After you have captured and saved the video, use a different editor if you have one to modify the video, otherwise very happy with the product.

Works great! Simple, inexpensive, does the job very well.
For capturing analogue video, this device worked perfectly on my Win 10 laptop (i7 with 8Gb membory). Installed with the CD, connected the 3 cables to my 1998 Cannon Mini-DV camcorder, hit Play on and then Capture on Arc software it started to create an mpeg2 file on my computer. About 2 Gb per hour. One thing is that it keeps capturing even when the 1 hour long tape has ended- so you've got to come back and stop it when the tape is done (I accidentally captured an extra 18 Gb of nothing). The Edit feature is non-intuitive - I still have not quite figured it out - apparently you can mark a start and end to an existing mpeg and move that segment to a new file or build a project out of segments. Great price under $20, delivered within a week. I shopped for weeks before getting this one and I am quite happy. I have captured 16 Mini-DVs into mpegs on my laptop.
