The hot chocolate pods are really tasty, I think your expectations need to be lowered though. You are suppose to add 2 x espresso of water, this doesn’t equate to a large drink. The photo I have added here shows the amount of water, for reference the cup is 150ml. The company states to add squirty cream to the drink, to obviously make it a bigger drink. I think it tastes fantastic, and I have had no issues with leaking pods.

I bought my little machine for coffee but at heart I’m really a chocoholic kind of person! So, I wondered, can you get anything in these gorgeous little (okay; sometimes XXL) pods/capsules other than coffee? Like Hot Chocolate? Of course, the gorgeous little pods have to be compatible… that’s where REAL COFFEE come in! Yes you can (get stuff inside other than coffee) and yes they are (compatible) and YES they do (Hot Chocolate)! If they made the XXL size pods/capsules, I’d give them ten stars… they are definitely worth five stars, the hot chocolate is very decent 🥰

The Real Coffee co hot chocolate is more or less just a good instant hot chocolate. I was expecting something close to the Spanish style hot chocolate, but instead I find it to be just another instant hot chocolate, similar to what you would buy in a tub from the supermarket. Always happy to support small businesses, and the quality is better than some, but there's definitely a question over value for money. The recommended volume of the hot chocolate is 80ml, however producing a hot chocolate this large results in a fairly weak/thin hot chocolate with too much water. My recommendation would be to vend as an espresso rather than a double/lungo. The capsules are not as robust as those from leading brands, but that is probably to be expected from a small manufacturer. Would I buy again? possibly. Do I regret buying? Absolutely not. Can I get the same quality instant hot chocolate elsewhere? Most definitely.

Everyone's perception of taste is different. I read the reviews, and no doubt, they are all right to those who wrote them. For me, these chocolate pods are full of flavour, with a rich taste, and a dark chocolate aftertaste. I've not tried yet, but, with a dash of Kahlua this could be a winter winner. So, this is an update. While the above is still true, unfortunately, i've discovered that the quality of the pods leaves a bit to be desired. Everyone is prone to exaggeration, so, trying to keep some reality on it, i would say 70% of the pods leak. Now whether this is a design issue, i have no idea, but it's the only pods i have that leak Yet another update. Finally given up on these, and put the remaining ones in the bin. It's a bit sad, they taste good, but the quality of the pods is incredibly poor, with at least 25% of the drink running down the front of the machine....and I'll mention this again, these are the only pods I've had that do this.

Just had my first cup, full cream milk and 2 capsules. I am in heaven, excellent hot chocolate. Can’t wait to give my grandchildren a cup.
