I’ve only ever tried caviar once before so I was intrigued to try this red shrimp caviar and, whilst I wasn’t disappointed, I think I prefer black caviar. The red just looks a bit odd and not particularly appetising, although I found that it tasted more fishy than the black version. The pearls are small so you do get the pop in the mouth but it’s not as noticeable because of the tiny size. I’m glad I tried it but I wouldn’t have shrimp caviar again.

I have never been fortunate enough to taste caviar, so I am unable to comment on whether this product resembles the “real thing”. However, what I can say is that it tastes lovely. I do love seafood, and as one might expect this has a distinct “fishy” taste. I just tried it on crackers, both garlic crackers and black pepper crackers. It looks attractive and makes a good starter, or for serving with “nibbles” when entertaining. I was happy to try it, but it’s probably not something I would purchase again.

It is made from Red Shrimp (prawns) which are prized in Spain and the Mediterranean for their taste. My husband and I both tried the caviar and liked it very much. There is not the same pop you get with usual caviar but neither are they mushy and the pearls do crack under the pressure of your tongue. The taste is really good with plenty of depth. It is a decent sized jar for the cost and brings an affordable taste of luxury and style to your table. I like it as a topping with smoked salmon and cream cheese - just a little of the caviar but my hubby likes to use dry crackers with just the caviar on so it is suitable to different tastes. The smell reminds me of cod liver oil and it is quite fishy. Either way it is a hit with us and we would recommend this product,

Eurocaviar Red Shrimp Caviar This red shrimp caviar comes in a nicely presented glass jar with metal screw topped lid and tamperproof sticker sealing. The caviar is a bright vibrant red colour which is attractive to add to your platter and has a high visual appeal even before tasting it. I have never tasted caviar before so trying this is a new experience for me. Opening the jar was very easy and I did not get a huge waft of fish odour. The pearls have a wet texture and separate easily for your desired serving size. Tasting the pearls felt like a jelly type texture and actually reminded me of chia seeds which you can pop with a bite. The caviar was an oily mouth feel with a fishy taste.

I have had different varieties of caviar and this would pass as caviar maybe o someone who hasn't had the same experience. I didn't really enjoy it unfortunately. The packaging was nice and safe, just the flavour wasn't what I look for when I eat caviar.

This tastes similar to caviar, the fishy taste and the litle pop is there. Unfortunately ..not for me, The list of ingredients has too many E agents to consciously use this as a healthy option plus given the cost ..you might as well go for the real thing .
