Probably one of the best headlamps if you need it
Annoyingly the price dropped £20 about a week after I bought mine! But has since gone up again. I first used my torch on a night training hike for a walking qualification I'm doing, although I anticipate using it for our quite frequent power cuts and both van and tent camping. The light is pretty easy to understand once you have a play with it and I mostly left it on the reactive mode that cleverly senses when the beam is illuminating objects in close proximity and adjusts the power accordingly. This was brilliant for night hiking as one moment it was cutting deep into the distance and further than anyone else's torch, the next moment it dimmed when reading a map to avoid dazzle. The single button operation reduces complexity and is easy to find without fiddling about. The harness is very comfortable and the light weight of the torch meant I was barely aware of it. It did use more battery life than I expected on the hike (down to 2 of 5 bars on the indicator after 2 hours), but I was playing about with it a bit, testing out the range and different modes and looking at terrain a long way ahead. Max power is bright and I was easily able to see well over 100m. In most situations I will not need to use max power and reactive lighting also reduces power consumption. If it becomes an issue I will stump up the money for a spare battery, but hopefully won't need to, due to more careful us and because I carry a back-up torch. Charging by USB-C is super simple and although it does take a while it's easy to see its charge state with the flashing indicator and at other times how much battery you have left with the 5 stage led lamp indicator. Performance wise, I have nothing but praise so hopefully reliability and and quality will follow. For what it offers, it's definitely worth the cost, but most people will never need this level of performance or the clever reactive lighting, but you will know it you do.

Best headtorch I've had
It is very easy to adjust the slack/tightness while running which makes this very comfortable to wear running. It is also very light. Battery life is incredible compared to previous Petzl models. It is extremely bright on the brightest setting, but even on the dullest setting, it is still very bright. It is definitely worth spending a bit of extra money for this.

Bright Nights, Dim Disappointments: The Petzl SWIFT RL Headlamp Experience
🔦 As an avid night hiker, I was thrilled to get my hands on the Petzl SWIFT RL headlamp. With a whopping 1100 lumens and a 155-meter beam, this lightweight wonder promised to light up my nocturnal adventures like never before. The REACTIVE LIGHTING mode is truly a game-changer. 🌟 It's like having a personal lighting assistant, automatically adjusting brightness and beam pattern to optimize battery life and visual comfort. I found myself reaching for the controls far less often, allowing me to focus on the trail ahead. However, it's not all smooth sailing. While the 7-hour minimum burn time is decent, I've had a few close calls on longer expeditions. 😓 The single-button control, while sleek, has a bit of a learning curve. I've accidentally cycled through modes more times than I'd like to admit. The red lighting options are a thoughtful touch. Whether I'm reading maps or signaling for help (thankfully, not often), the continuous and strobe settings have proven invaluable. 🆘 The reflective headband is another smart safety feature, ensuring I'm visible to others even when my light is off. Comfort-wise, the ergonomic and adjustable headband is a win. At just 100g, it's easy to forget I'm wearing it. The ability to tilt the lamp up or down is handy, especially when I'm wearing it around my neck or on a helmet. While the SWIFT RL isn't perfect, its pros outweigh the cons for my needs. If you're a serious outdoor enthusiast who values cutting-edge technology and doesn't mind a slight premium, this headlamp could be your new best friend for nighttime adventures. Just remember to pack an extra battery for those extra-long treks! 🏕️

I recommend this light
A great lamp, nice head adjustment feature. The 3 light levels work great for me, 1100 is really powerful, ideal for mountain navigation decision making.

Excellent product although head band does tend to loosen
I bought this on the basis of an excellent Which review and it lives up to that review. It has three different brightnesses and the range through which the beam can be angled is huge. My only slightly issue is that the securing device on the head band does tend to slip and therefore loosen so needs adjusting regularly. It is quite expensive

Excellent bright headtorch
Overall I think this headtorch is great. I was a bit skeptical before hand about the automagical variable output, but in practice this works really well and changes the output sensibly and quickly. I generally use it for running at night along a dark canal and just put it in the middle setting. Also has none variable output for occasions when you want to override. Comfort wise it's great and doesn't move around even when running quickly. Battery life seems to be absolutely ages. I've been charging it because I think I should, rather than because it runs out of battery at all! Had to be slightly careful to make sure I got the newer version of this headtorch - the one that charges by USBC and has a brighter output.

Possibly overkill for most users
Very bright, the RL is great for map reading at night, battery lasts a long time. Hiking at night is a lot easier.

By far the best headlamp I've ever had in my life, you definitely get what you pay for, lightweight integrative lighting I also purchased a backup battery for it, it's so bright, little tricky to get used to, but I can't wait to go camping this summer, petzl makes the best quality products

Lampada fantastica.
