I've used this over many years. It is pure peppermint placed in capsules that deliver it to the lower intestine. No known side effects. Works wonders. Really helps wit my bloating (I'm over 60). GREAT product.

I have celiac disease and often have abdominal cramping. These pills may be a bit expensive but they really work well. You won’t be sorry if you buy them!

There are great benefits to introducing peppermint into the digestive tract. It is anti-inflammatory, stops gas in it's tracks and helps digest food easily. The issue is getting it there intact. If you take the oil or the peppermint supplement it gets absorbed long before it get to the area where it needs to be effective. Not to mention the inevitable and debilitating heartburn that follows with a direct administration of peppermint oil. Even the flake cause heartburn and are largely ineffective against gas, bloat, IBS and Krohns. The IB Guard was recommended by my GI doctor. They are expensive and you're told to take as many as 3-5 per day. At that rate this medicine would cost you $2.75 per day, $85.25 per month and $1,023 per year. I can't help but think that not too long after this item, someone will come to market with a very similar product in a package that didn't eat up 90% of their marketing and production budget. These are designed and marketed to look like "RX meds". They are little more than supplements. They are effective but they are price gouging because they are the first to the market for something like this.

After dealing with IBS for 35 years, and trying various meds and diets, I finally bought IBGard. It has helped me so much. I have felt a lot better since I started taking it six weeks ago. I'll use it forever. I'd recommend it to anyone who has this awful condition.

A VERY expensive peppermint oil that you can buy cheaper, but maybe the form is important? This comes like how Contact C used to, in little capsules. Absorption is critical in gut issues and after a few days of wondering if I'd made things worse, it seems that my body is responding well to this. I would recommend peppermint oil, but not sure it has to be in this format with this price tag.

It works great! Solved most of my digestive issues. Only major complaint is the price but it is worth it since it works so well.
