Perfect for TV Optical to RCA – Works Flawlessly
Works perfectly with TV optical out. Great VFM. Comes with USB cable for power and I also got a free 0.5m optical cable. Sound quality is much cleaner than using the TV headphone port (dialogue clarity improved a lot). No audio sync/lip-sync issues. Important: TV audio output must be set to PCM in settings, otherwise there will be no sound. Highly recommended for connecting TV to amplifier via RCA

Defective Product
Recieved a defective product, I bought this after seeing good reviews. But really disappointed. And this is no direct replacement or refund from amazon. After being a long term user of amazon.

Does the job very well
Works well Two digital inputs, two channels of analog output, plus a 3.5mm stereo TRS socket. There is no input selector. I had hooked up both the digital inputs and discovered that it doesn't work well when I change input. So I had to physically unplug one input cable to get the other to work. Didn't have to power cycle the device, though. The device doesn't come with a USB mains charger, just an adapter cable. So I needed to buy a USB charger, which pushes up the total cost of the system by about 50%. The sound quality is mediocre. If I compare it with 20x more expensive music listening DACs, this sound quality is unpleasant for music listening. It sounds too sharp, probably has high SINAD. But for TV soundtrack, no one will notice. I'm using it as a stopgap for TV watching. There is a soft high-pitched whine coming from the DAC, which is a whine, not a hiss. It's not the usual white noise or pink noise. (Even a $100 DAC doesn't emit such noise, but this is more primitive than them.) You can hear the soft whine from the speakers in a quiet room, but it gets masked when there is any audio in the signal. So, for non-critical TV watching, it works.

Good audio device at very affordable prce.
I was searching a device for my tv audio output but not willing to spent high, as if this starts well then can decide to invest in proper desktop DAC. To my surprise, this dirt cheap product comes out to be served my purpose and the audio quality increased to a great extent. With the Two outputs, I can easily connect 2.1 audio system. I highly recommends this to anyone who wants to listen good music n crytal clear dialogues from their tv.

It's not working properly. Making humming noice while connected and not playing audio

Stay away from this, selling defective products
The converter doesn’t work straight out of the box, when you plugin the 5V power supply. And there are no return or refund options on Amazon, you’ll have to contact the seller, so stay away from this product.
