Blunt edge
Blunt edge. Spent and hour trying the sharpen it. Cuts warm butter like a champ. Looks and feels impressive in your hand. Get something else smaller and not as thick.

ABSOLUTE BEAST-CLEAVER.
Man. I didn't expect this level of brutal performance. This thing is an absolute beast. Omg. It is hefty, it crushes bones. It chops thru ribs. Spine? Pff. Please. It shatters spine. I took a half-frozen quarter goat and it just demolished it. This thing is such a beast it put a hole in the cutting board I was using. Make sure you have the right cutting board for this monster. Pics speak for themselves. You need a cleaver? This is a cleaver.

Pure Awesome. Fantastic Quality Cleaver.
Goes through any bones I throw at it, and the quality is top notch. You couldn't get better if you paid 3x as much. I know because I have some Dalstrong Cleavers that I did pay 3 times as much for, and these are just as good as those for a fraction of the cost. You can use this cleaver for anything you'd use a cleaver for and then some. And its weight is nicely balanced too.Funny story I had some 3 inch thick, completely frozen solid chicken breasts, I didn't feel like defrosting and wanted to cut them down to size for the meal I was making. This cleaver chopped a solid frozen 3 inch thick chicken breast in half in one Chop. And continued to do so for 8 breasts total.Washed it wiped it dry, and it was brand new after.I have chopped whole chickens in half down the center through bones and all, no problem.Buy it and you'll be smiling. I assure you.

Not Bad... Not great.
Edge appears sharp enough for heavy cleaver. I got this on sale with tax at just over 25 dollars. For 25 I'd buy again. As a home cook I will rarely use it so didn't want to spend a lot on this type of cleaver. I have Chinese chef knives (cleavers) from Misono (expensive Japanese), Cutlery world, Lamson and 2 others from this brand. Kitory veggie cleavers are finished a little better. These Kitory's are a little rough around the edges. The Chinese steel they are made from is decent steel. The wood isn't fitted as well as it could be. Might be from shrinkage of wood as it dried. As noted on other reviews of their veggie cleavers the rivets are a little protruding. This meat cleaver the rivets are fine, but the metal is a little sharp where it shouldn't be, For the price you can't go wrong if you get it on sale. Lamson I think is about 70 bucks. Misono was about 90 on sale with retail about 120. After I work the spine on the 2 veggies cleavers, I bought from Kitory I plan on gifting them to my ex-wife and a friend. Unless you use this type of knife all the time these are bargains. But I do prefer my Misono and Lamson for everyday work. This heavy beast will be worked over on the edges as well and will serve me well i am sure. For 25 bucks it was hard to beat. For 35 I might look around. I do have a lighter weight MEAT cleaver that this will supplement. The Chinese veggie cleavers no matter who makes them or where are not meant for bones or hard frozen food. Just as this is not meant for slicing or dicing meat or veggies. ITS ALMOST 2 POUNDS OF HEAVY MEAT CLEAVER. PS. Also I have used a Winco veggie cleaver and a Dexter Russel veggie cleaver. I can say these Kitory's use harder metal if advertising is accurate. So, you would most likely have to sharpen less often. Hence my not band not great view. Worth the money? Before I way overpaid for Chinese made knives because of slick marketing...Think Dalstrong. I'd run out and buy this brand. You do NOT have to look all over to see these are Chinese knives. They are proud of that fact. And are priced accordingly.

Good heavy duty knife
Very solid chopper. It makes chopping whole chicken into pieces very easy. I also use it to open coconuts. Amazing kitchen knife, almost works like an axe.

Super Excellent Quality.
The media could not be loaded. WOW !!!!!! Excellent Quality. This chopper has some serious weight to it. I like the workmanship and it’s FULL TANG. Very sharp. I cut up a whole duck and the axe ripped through the bones no problems.

Good knife at a decent price
I'm a not a knife expert and historically all my knifes were either made in Germany or France and also much more expensive. This is the first time I buy a made in china knife and I must say that it is excellent. I like the weight, handle and sharpness. It is not by any means as sharp as the video shows slicing paper sheets, however it is very sharp and it does a good job.Time will tell if the wooden handle will last and also if the darken part of the knife will stay the same colour since it seems to be painted. For now I'm very happy with this knife.
