Needed an ice pack for knee, hip & shoulder problems. This item adequately did the job for all three.

So pleased I bought this following following full hip replacement, gives extra relief...

It's a good function pain relief tool. I use it every day at the moment. Strap's are good

perfect size for hip, quad, also calf wrap around.. gel stays fluid enough to mould.

Works well..good size..covers from my knee to ankle.UPDATEHaving now used this item for nearly a year, the time has come for an update. The pack is very big, and in that lies one of its strengths, but also I have found a weakness.The bag is semi-divided into three compartments by 2 'welds' which are left open at the ends (creating small gaps). This helps the bag to maintain the distribution of the gel, but also allow the gel to be re-distributed through the small gaps when necessary.For the first 6 months I used the pack as a cold compress....fresh from the freezer almost daily. All was fine. More recently I have had to use it as a hot compress fresh from the microwave. That's when the weakness manifested itself! The bag started to leak at either end of the welds. Only a small amount each time but once it starts the bag empties at a considerable rate...losing it's effectiveness. After about 2 months of daily heat use, the bag is all but spent.I have tried to follow the manufacture's instructions when heating the bag.....but it's hard if you get distracted whilst the bag is in the microwave. That's another thing....the time taken for the bag to heat up in an 800W microwave is quite a long time. Maybe nearl 10 minutes as a whole....including the time taken to fold and turn the bag over. So overall I am going to have to reduce my star rating from 5 down to 3.

I have just had a complete knee replacement, ice packs are essential, and this fits perfectly, for 4 times a day the two ice packs are essential. very easy to apply and very comfortable. My only comment from a knee point of view is that if the ice pack seams went the other way, longways, down the leg, then each segment would fit top and two sides perfectly. However, the gel can be shaped fairly easily from -18 degrees. Highly Recommended.

Much easier and more effective than an unsupported pack. The only criticism I have is that there is a similar product, also on Amazon, which is just as good but 30% cheaper (I bought two to compare before getting more)

Estupendo para lesiones de rodilla, como es mi caso, y también para otras zonas con lesiones que requieran frío o calor, tiene un tamaño grande que cubre muy bien.Se coloca con facilidad, es muy parecido a una rodillera, y se adapta a cualquier otra zona perfectamente, no se mueve gracias a las tiras de sujeción con velcro.

Wirklich großer Kühlpad, Verarbeitung scheint nach der ersten Benutzung gut zu sein. Läßt sich durch die langen Klettbänder auch gut befestigen. Wir sind sehr zufrieden damit.

I had a hip replacement and need to use ice to keep my swelling and pain reduced. It has been hard to find a single resuable compress that is large enough to cover the top of my thigh and 8 inch incision. Even in the hospital i needed to use two ice packs to cover the affected area and then keeping them where i wanted them was impossible. I found this gel pack on Amazon and am thrilled that it is wide enough to cover my entire thigh, even down the side of my hip and up to the top of my incision which is just below my waist. The cover that comes with the gel pack has elastic straps that are long enough to wrap around my waist and can loop around my leg... with velcro at the ends that hold the compress securely against my leg and stays right where i want it. I can move around easily (laying or walking) with the gel pack on, it doesn’t shift as i move. This gel pad/cover combination has given me great relief and is contributing to my fast recovery. It exceeds my expectations. Well worth the price. I recommend this product very highly.I am adding this comment, i just read several bad reviews and their main objections were the fact that the icy cold does not last 2 hours and the length of the straps. My understanding is that ice packs should not to be applied for more than 20 minutes to avoid frostbite, so since i followed my doctor’s directions i had no issue with the duration of the gel pack icy-state. It was more than adequate for my purpose and there were plenty of ice crystals in the pad after i returned it to the freezer when i was done. Regarding the ‘petite’ person who could not wrap the straps around her leg. I can tell you that i am not petite but normal a size 10. I had to wrap the straps around my thigh TWICE they were so long and the strap i used around my waist was more than sufficient to fit; keep in mind, the straps are elastic so they could have been longer.
