Surprisingly Good!
I have to admit, when this show first appeared on TV I wasn't expecting much. Most series with martial arts as its centerpiece is high on action, low on story and character. Usually this is because one is at the expense of the other. You either have really athletic, action oriented people who can't act or good actors who can't punch their way out of a paper bag. Surprise, surprise! This series was pretty good!I thought the premise was a bit weird at first. An apocalyptic earth, run by family houses with personal armies until I realized this was basically feudal era Japan. Interesting. Then it got better as the writers made every effort to develop the characters - hero's and villain's alike - into real three dimensional characters. And they did. More interesting. Now add some uneasy relationships, romance and a touch of mysticism and lo and behold you got a pretty good thing going on.What is most impressive however is the caliber of the action. I've been practicing martial arts now for over 20 years and I can tell you that what these actors are doing is NOT easy. Choreographed or not, the timing and movements are very well done. Other real-life martial artists will tell you that for those actors on the show who have never done martial arts, they did really, really well.Give some credit to Danial Wu. I believe he was one of the actors who helped the other actors learn martial arts on the fly for the series.

I love this show!❤️
That case is nice, but no slip cover like advertised. Most importantly the show is amazing, and I am one step closer to owning all three seasons.

Another Great Season for Martial Arts/Melee Fight Fans!
Into The Badlands - Season 2 [Blu-ray]The Badlands and Outlying territories has been expanded with 10 episodes (from season one's 6 episodes) - for a look into a grim wild world and a host of interesting new characters such as The Engineer, Nos, Nathaniel "Silver" Moon, including Nick Frost as Bajie - for some comedic relief and unexpected surprise reveals in how our characters of the Badlands are interlinked with previous histories. The cinematography, unique costumes, set designs, and badass fun fight choreography and weapon selections are all there - from a violent Jackie Chan-esque junkyard fight scene to great and unique duels between various characters, and an end season melee madness. The "dark gift" monks are back along with their "Master" and a monastery that trains and imprisons? - those with the dark gifts such as the young character MK that was caught by the monks in the end of the first season. The awesome Marton Csokas is back as the charismatic madman and leader, Quinn - stirring up drama and violence along with his treacherous wives and son - yes, plural - Lydia, Jade, and Ryder, along with questionable "liberator" Emily Beecham's Widow, and newly introduced "status quo enabler" Baron Chau. Then of course, there is Sunny played by Daniel Wu - The "ronin" with a cause of just wanting normalcy from his previous life as a clipper/henchman - while being dragged back into the carnage for his past transgressions, want of redemption, and the quest to be reunited with his wife Veil and son Henry. Seeing the learned stoicism being torn down by his ever learning humanism is a fascinating journey - all while forced to make use of his "killer" instincts on that journey and being haunted by his past.Sound effects, dialogue volume levels, musical scores, and imagery are well done for this Dolby Digital 5.1 1080p release. One star deduction for bare minimum deleted scenes special features, when contrasted with the 1st season LOADED special features -and, a poorly written "give me a break" showdown season finale between Sunny and nemesis, along with a poorly "executed" loss of a loved one. *My director's rewrite and reshoot: Sunny beheads his nemesis, supposedly being a thorough and deadly former clipper/enforcer, and the collapsing floor or ceiling causes an unfortunate death.Hopefully, season 3 isn't loaded with these types of "give me a break" moments...Otherwise, a great overall FUN action packed blood soaked romp with this season 2 release! Enjoy, kids!
