Arcturus XL Survival Tarp - Insulated Reflective Thermal Camping Tarp - 8.5' x 12' (Desert Tan)

The Arcturus XL Survival Tarp is an absolute must-have for anyone who loves the outdoors. This tarp is incredibly well-made, with heavy-duty materials that can stand up to just about anything. Whether I’m using it as a shelter, ground cover, or reflective blanket, it performs flawlessly every time. The reflective Mylar side is a game-changer for retaining heat in colder conditions, while the durable waterproof side provides excellent protection from rain and wind. At 10x12 feet, the size is perfect for a wide range of setups, and the reinforced grommets make it easy to secure in any environment. Despite its rugged design, the tarp is surprisingly lightweight and compact when packed, making it easy to carry on camping trips or store in a bug-out bag. It’s clear that Arcturus put a lot of thought into the design of this product. If you’re looking for a reliable survival tarp that can handle tough conditions, the Arcturus XL is worth every penny. I couldn’t be happier with it!

Made sturdy. Good cover for outdoors

I did the research and chose this tarp to insulate my hot tub. It is saving me a lot of money on my energy bill. The silver side reflects the heat back in and the waterproof black side protects the tub. The grommets are very strong and, even with strong winds, can hold the tarp in place with bungie chords.

It looks good but it is a lot thinner than I thought it would be. Its basically a thin piece of mylar with a plastic coating on one side with the design on it. I was expecting for the price it would be a bit thicker with some more weight to it. It feels like it would not last long and is cheaply made. If I knew it was like this I may have went the route of buying a cheap drop cloth/tarp and glued/sewed a cheap mylar sheet/blanket to it instead. For those who want something light weight to carry for sun/heat protection for a camping site this maybe good enough. If you want something more heavy duty and weight is not as much as an issue this may not be right for you.

The product met all the expectations set by the description and functions flawlessly. It is indeed a very cool and impressive product.

First off, I’m always proud to support a locally owned business. I have a little experience with cloaks of this sort, whose existence is only recently starting to be revealed. A similar item has been used by the US military for some time now to defeat thermal detection and targeting systems. This ain’t the same but it works similarly by using the same principle; the real stuff has a quieter outer shell combined with extra layers of insulation to resist transferring heat to the outer layer. For a civilian option under $100, or $300 for that matter, this is nothing to scoff at. So, if you’re one of “those guys,” this and a woobie blanket can make you invisible to thermal detection in the field. For the rest of us, it makes for an excellent tent or shelter in the cold, wet winters of the PNW. With a single cord and a few stakes, you can have a 6’ x 8’ shelter that’s rainproof and will insulate you from the cold while amplifying any heat source. You can also create a “tube tent” at 4’ tall if you’re forced to bed down on wet soil. My only complaint is the camo pattern used on the XL blanket. I wish it used the same pattern as their standard size as its more convincing in the field. Despite that, the pattern used is still better than any solid shade if you’re trying to not be seen. Once the flooding from the Atmospheric Rivers of 2025 finally recedes and I’m able to visit my favorite camping sites, I’ll record some footage with my thermal optic to demonstrate its effectiveness in defeating thermal sensors.

I just received the blanket/tarp and I have not had a chance to take it out for use but the initial look and feel is soild and what I was expecting. Once I’ve had a chance to take it out a few times and use it I will update the review.

Saw this suana hack online. Works great to keep my sauna at temperature. Great size and coverage with the larger tarp.

Durable and waterproof great for making a thermal barrier beneath you and over you

The expanded size space blanket is excellent. Its bulkier than the standard solo size but perfect for the vehicle or camp setup.

Bâche bien épaisse , j'adore son côté aluminium pour garder la chaleur et son côté camouflé fait bien son effet dans les bois . Elle mesure 355 cm x 250 cm . Il manque des œillets si vous voulez le monter en tarp , je trouve cela un peu juste , j'aime bien quand le tarp est sardiné dans le sol . ( SARDINÉ ) n'existe pas comme mot , je viens tout juste de l'inventer , comme cela vous comprenez ce que je veux dire . :-)

Used this to cover our bunk ends on our pop up trailer. It really helped to keep the heat out from the sun. Helped keep it warm at night too. Definitely made a notable difference.

Needed this to give smidge more insulation in the tent between it and the fly. Throw a small heater in and it works well
